The only problem I see with therapy is the Misconceived negative views that so many have of people who go for therapy, the ones I mean are "X Person Going to Therapist = X Person must have Mental Problems and likely is dangerous etc" this is a very dangerous view to popularize as it can inadvertently as well as purposely be used to stigmatize and shame/scare people away from getting the help thy might desperately need.

If you mean the "Root Cause" of Gender Disphoria, no real research has been done into finding it (see my comments above). as for it being measurable, it is, yet no system of measure has to my knowledge been developed for it or applied to it, yet it has been proven it can be identified via Biochemical and Neurological tests. it is not a social issue (except in the way some perceive it) and it predates feminism by quite a bit (has had mentions in a great many ancient historical finds dating back over a thousand years ago).

Bio-Markers as in what? Their is a good deal of theorizing that one contributing factor is in many cases is during a particular phase of the development of the fetus where the fetus is given a large dose of the correct hormonal balance for their gender, instead getting a near overdose with the exact opposite hormone balance. that said it is a "theory" even among the so-called "experts", actual scientific studies on that have not been done, as for "why" there is a plethora of "reasons" given which cover everything from "Stigmatisms" (both Religious and non-Religious) to the Medical Industry (at least in the USA anyway) currently having a disinterest in almost everything outside pharmaceutical research. I don't think the "feminist-dominated propaganda" is a contributing factor as Gender Disphoria actually Predates it by quite a great deal.

Do some research then from reputable sources (their appears to be a great many disreputable info sources on this subject for some reason), from what I have learned only a small percentage costume, the majority are Cartoonists/artists (traditional and digital)/writers etc and fans of the afore mentioned. and yes I agree the parental "because i say so" reason often given is quite disgusting (thankfully my own never used that, they gave a logical explanation that I could understand on things. From what I have researched the whole Fettish thing came from one convention (of many) that for whatever reason decided to advertise to the local fetishists, from what I gather the furries that attended that convention had no idea that had been done and were so disgusted by it they not only cut their convention visit short but also never returned to that particular convention. other than that the mainstream media seem to be bent on pushing that angle in almost any mention of furries for the shock value to boost ratings, couple that with the "creative editing" that media are known for doing and you can see how they keep their bs alive. not to say that cons "don't" have "Adult Material" ive been to Comic Anime & Sci-Fi Cons myself, all con's have an "Adults only" Tent, heck anime cons have several tents dedicated to "Specific Types" of "Adult Content" that are disturbing to an extreme... that said I have never been to a Furry Con, so I can only speak from what I have read/been told/shown/seen on video as to those.

That I did not know about, to my knowledge to get HRT approval a diagnosis was required, this must be something new along the lines of some doctors just prescribing people whatever they want (I have encountered a couple prescription drug addicts who used that method). I will need to look into this more for myself later. Personally I was diagnosed twice, and educated about it by the doctor once which was also when I was told I & shown that I was born intersexed (look up "Persistent Müllerian duct syndrome" for a variant) HRT was reccomended but I turned it down both times due to several personal reasons. Sex Plus Lies? No, Definitely not, but who is to say their isn't (or isnt supposed to be) more than just 2 Genders? Medical Science itself has said many times that we are not even scratching the surface with understanding the human body, so who knows for sure. um, no, not when gender disphoria is biochemically & neurologically identifiable. where you are going would be along similar lines to Gender Disphoria being purely a Mental Disorder, as was believed to be the case before more actual scientific research had been done proving that to be false.

you may have a point there, at least for some individual anyway. Our society loves to try to keep people from thinking/behaving outside of the box it has set up as "normal" a normal and common response for some is to "Rebel" against whatever they are being forced by others to do. however I think as probable as that may be, it is most likely limited to a minority/percentage, from what I have seen is that fandoms are many different things for many different people, anything from a business venture (vendors of art/products) to what you stated or just simple escapism (no different than a camping/fishing trip).

One of the worst ideas in the history of Bad Ideas. with the current system this is a) Forcing you to choose the lesser of the 2 proposed evils (still choosing evil) b) forcing participation in a system that a large percentage have found to be so completely rigged it is beyond a joke. (see electronic voting machines) this is nothing more than another step towards a totalitarian state in which government is attempting to control every aspect of peoples lives via its monopoly on force.

A Fettish? why does it strike you as that? I'm Sure their are liable to be a few fetishists in the group but the same is true for just about any group. I'm a Star Trek & Star Wars fan myself and even those have that 1% or less who always try to twist it into/use it for some outright disturbing perversions, but lumping in the other 99% is a bit like saying that because 1% of Humans are flat out Evil that no Humans could possibly be anything else. all the same I found a interesting video on the subject and one convention I thought I would share.
