Not presenting sources or evidence. And will try to get viewers to join them in looking down on, slandering, and disregarding anyone who do not agree with their unproven 'facts'. Its just indoctrination. Just like probably all of us here have been at some point. "I have been taught/told -x-, so it is a fact. And so anyone else who oppose facts must be -slander-." The power of religion does not stop at religions.

Is there any other group feminists could ally with that would make them more anti women? I am trying to figure out if there is any other group that treats women worse. At least no one wanted to sing along in that clip. Guess that is a good sign. But if feminists continue siding with Islam then we can correctly call them the real advocates for patriarchy.

Why is Norway not in red?

I don't know the details, or watched the video yet. (can not now). But it sounds like from your post that they assume that evolution has been unable to come up with this solution to oxygen based lifeforms. I would rather assume that evolution did not apply the method, because it did not work (well). Do they talk about that in the video? And how is 'moving' the dna going to affect cell divisions / productions?? Or do they never hope for a modified cell to be able to divide? If these questions are adressed in the video, then nevermind.

How do you get someone interested in SK?
A4E replied to Thus_Spake_the_Nightspirit's topic in Self Knowledge
Remember that you are also to some degree fighting about what he is doing. You pressuring him is likely not going to make him want to look at SK ever. Trying to change a 50 year old man who is not being open to new information, history of manipulation, huge red flag proposal after 1 week, and he don't even want to talk, but is ok with yelling. Now that is a challenge. Fighting about it, like most couples fighting, is never going to change anything. Other than one of you ending up in some substance abuse, or hospital, or worse. Do not try to convince yourself otherwise. "Well, if I just say this, or do that..." No. Aggressive behaviour or fighting is never going to solve anything. -
A while back, like 2-3 years or so, youtube also lowered their percentage revenue share for creators, which made quite a few successful channels uneasy. All of these things coupled with the latest is probably just halfway of what they will do to their sla... uh... creators. And they have no legal recourse since they signed a contract where it says google/youtube can change the contract at any time. This is why youtubers are starting ie patrons. They will always find ways to get around problems in an anarchic internet.

How do you get someone interested in SK?
A4E replied to Thus_Spake_the_Nightspirit's topic in Self Knowledge
No. Way too aggressive, and again you are implying that it is your task to open him up. It would be like if I asked you now: "How can I make you give us more detailed information about this issue?" He would feel what you felt from that question now. Wow. And here I thought you had a small problem with him not being interested in SK. Does he have friends? friends online? Does he talk to them? Does he open up to them? Do you know anything about his life with his friends or anything? -
How do you get someone interested in SK?
A4E replied to Thus_Spake_the_Nightspirit's topic in Self Knowledge
It should definitely start with questions, and not feel like something mandatory. Since it is the 'self' that is important. So at the right peaceful and non mandatory situation, it could be productive to ask some very mild, neutral questions to try to get some conversation going. I understand that can be hard if he is busy with his electronics. "Are you going to look into your history, so that we can find out why you are doing these things today?", Is of course the wrong approach, while something like "You told me your mother likes to knit. What other things does she like?" Would be a nice comfortable question to start things off. I have good experience in making the dam break by just going easy/mild in the conversation and let the other person do all the work. Also the relationship will automatically become closer and more open. Its not your job to 'get' him interested. That should be of his own choosing, but I understand that you would like to "get" someone to do something, which we all have wanted at some point I'm sure. I don't think manipulation is a good path to travel, as things could get much worse. -

Question to OP: Does our solar system have control over itself?

@Anuojat You have a very good point. Most scientists are not alarmists, they don't think there is any significant danger. And big names in science are already trying to blow out the steam of this scare. Very important that you made this distinction actually, so that we hopefully do not waste too much time on this. Most (rational) scientists admit that they don't know precisely how much, or if any significant effect humans are having on climate. (yes there are scientists who are still alarmists. I am speaking of them as a whole). Most sincere thanks!

As long as they hold up Co2 as a doomsday molecule, it would be like responding to flat earth videos. I am sure humans have some small effect on warming the planet, but so does beetles, worms, algae, fish, whales, ants, termites... We know that it is a hoax, and not a real danger, for many different reasons. Some of the most known reasons are that governments/UN are not applying the cheapest, most effective, and environmental friendly ways to cool down the planet. Another reason I can think of is that it would be mandatory to make all cars white. But some of the most obvious reasons is that those who speak out the most about this danger are themselves carbon footprint maniacs. And government servants/officials never use skype/line/whatever for their worldwide meetings. No, they have to fly to meet in person every time. How strange, I thought this was "the worlds biggest problem"? It is always about the "little people" who have to "pay for their sins". I have never seen any mandatory solutions for people to paint their rooftops white, I guess because that does not send resources to those in power. Here in Norway many years ago, there was a guy who invented a cheap environmental friendly white powder or something that could be spread out in huge areas to reflect sunlight. Never heard ANYTHING about it since. There are other real worldwide environmental issues to worry about. Like man made plastic pollution. We are wasting countless resources and time and energy and thought on this BS, that politically is all about more state power. And EVEN if it is all true, here is a guy making a case for why it is ridiculous to let state or world powers try to do anything about it with their carbon tax:

Also, warmer temperature means more life on the planet. More life means more Co2 in circulation. So logically no matter how the planet has been heated, there will be a resulting increase in Co2. Al Gore is known to have used this as evidence for Co2 being the source of the warming, by sliding the Co2 data an amount of years back in time, so that it looks like Co2 is causing the warming. Its not so different from saying retreating glaciers are causing global warming. Glaciers were advancing during the little ice age, so its natural that they would retreat afterwards.

I am a BASIC programmer. Been programming for 20 years. Currently developing my personal dream game (by myself). It is available on my website and I have a big update coming out soon. I am focused on having elements in the game that can create a gateway to reason and philosophy with things like dialogue between characters in the game, and also other ways, like when you make a new game profile it will initially get a random name from a list of popular people online who are waking people up, and have helped me immensely. "The great Stefan Molyneux" can thus appear in front of an unknown amount of people playing the game. I also make music in a variety of ways. I would love for other freedom oriented people to use my music for their projects. I have experience in 2D graphics animation. And editing any digital media. I have also made my own encryption techniques to protect my music/sounds/gfx in my game. My game is currently donation based, partly because my marketing skills are very low. My financial situation now is poor, generally from my own preferences, like developing my dream game. I care much more about creating things than money. I would not mind working on articles, like I have on my website. I like to write in English and contribute in this forum. I always have a lot of ideas floating around.

Humanity needs to invent general AI to survive.
A4E replied to jroseland's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
When reading OPs post I was wondering if a free market is a kind of artificial intelligence on its own, improving the lives of everyone. As for AI being put in power. Assuming the core of the AI is perfect, who gets to decide what information is fed to it? The type of information that governments receive today also creates a lot of obstruction, pointlessness, and waste of resources. So I am tempted to say that the information supplied to the AI will be just as bad and corrupt, therefore having pretty much the same effect.- 17 replies

I liked bullshit, until not so much after watching the "conspiracy theory" episode. They had thrown all their methods out of the window, and were really hammering their feels down the viewers throats. And carefully selected people to interview. But I guess it had something to do with the general hate garnered for people like me at that time. Now wake up calls are moving so fast that perhaps by 2020, most people will accept that there were no men on the moon. A turn of events that I had given up hope for long ago.

How do you know this? Is it because animals have not explained their choices to us humans? Then I'd like to see a human explain his choices... to an animal.

Most people will sign or agree with anything as long as there is some social pressure. Confront someone with a camera or a petition, and ask if they agree to ban dihydrogen monoxide, and most will agree. And it can even go further than that.
