  1. What's a shank? a person's leg, especially the part from the knee to the ankle. No really. what do you mean by that?
  2. Optimization in human systems, forgot to specify. I already have calculus in my course list because I took the extra accounting variant of my course (the other option was extra marketing) I will remember about statistics and should check it out.
  3. So you have to assume that within 3 pixels the distance/pixel raito is massive. Right after a rock. I don't see the cliff. Also, if it was a a setup, how could this happen. I understand the difference between a digital zoom and a lens zoom. The appearance of the rock must result from a change in angle( the perspective turns or moves to the side, from a far distance, it requires a massive displacement of the point of capture. The image makes no sense if the camera was on the moon. I see no reason for this to be made on the moon. I'm not invested in this, but I must say that all moon footage that I've seen ( very little) is very dissapointing. What's wrong?
  4. No. Because I don't even know what god is supposed to be in the first place. So I can't verify if its plausible atleast in the realm of common axioms, such as consistency and logic we've experienced. https://www.google.com/search?q=Philosophy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=Philosophy+definition In this instance, my inquire falls under: ''the study of the theoretical basis of a particular branch of knowledge or experience.'' Their thoughts exist wether what they put forward is true or not. So it is in reality. Unless you think they don't exist. Btw, my running goal in this thread is: finding what provoked the argument ''god is outside of time'' from a religious person. There have been 2 good mentions so far and I think there is more, so I'll check back in the future and hope to find something useful not sarcasm.
  5. I am inclined to think that the main reason from which this argument was put forward hasn't been mentioned yet. Considering the philosophical commitements I've seen in monotheism (basicly the edicts and epistemology of the religion is considered more reliable then an individual's reason.): -I don't think a believer would seek to accomodate god to general relativity. He would do the opposite with sci-fi or/and the ''We are wrong and haven't found out about it yet''. (off-topic)Wasn't there a thing which said time is the product of quantum.. entanglement?
  6. I am not in university, I have just finished highschool with admission to my first choice of college program. Here in Quebec. we have 1 less year of high-school and 1 less of university which is balanced by the fact that you must first go into college before you go into university. The college costs 600$/year, if it costed more then 1000 CAD$ I would have been reluctant.I looked at the course list, and I'm going to college to learn those courses, not for the carton diploma. Then with some hopefully practical knowledge in business, finance law and marketing, I wouldn't be stumbling over little rocks of ''didn't know this basic ass regulation'' in my path. Yes, I have considered. I conisdered 6 options on what to do and after researching, I decided to go on this one. There are 2 things I like most in terms of work: -Efficiency and optimization + forward command -Science and Research! I have a mediocre opinion of education. I want to get in the higher echelons of business in managing, and I think experience is better than a diploma. Instead of going through multiple years of diploma and maybe job searching, I'd rather be in charge of this project and see where it goes. I'm aiming it to succeed not just be an experiment. I decided to shutdown my science path after looking to some of the neuroscience and engineering income stats. You know those nice places in the market where the top 1% of eahc profession work. Thats where I want to be, I want to have a nice time and not be dwarfed by surrounding mediocrity (which I think is the alternative) Really, if you can help me with some words on the internet, I welcome it.
  7. How does omnipotence and omniscience require a god to exist outside of time? Stefan referred to this argument in 'against the gods'. What are the attributes of a god? (in the logical sense, not google's incomplete definition) or is it vague and undefined?
  8. What does ''garbage collected'' mean? ''Monkey is an easy to learn language that's object-oriented, modular, statically typed, and garbage collected. Language features include classes,...''
  9. I have some trouble gauging the seriousness of things like C-51 in terms of how much abuse there will be due to my lack of experience. Its criminal. Do you think the NPD is going to terminate C-51 and C-24? It seems to me that the conservatives spend as much as leftists but without any benefit. I don't know how relevant the minimum wage thing is but I'd shy away form the main parties as much as possible, it's the anti-totalitarian startegy I put forward. I don't know. I liked the information availability on the green party website. I think the L, PC and NPD websites are inacceptable. Actually, they all are innaceptabble by my standards. The libertarian party is dubious apparently: I only have 3 or 4 of the main parties in my riding. Probably completely useless. My original plan was to vote for the best party regardless (to discourage strategic defeatist voting), but there is no good party so that went down the void. Perhaps someone can clear up which party is the most efficient and realistic. Right now I would vote (if I could) based on liberties or not vote at all XD
  10. I bookmarked Gamemaker. that is somewhat of a less complicated C++, is it a kind of C++ or something different but similar? Oh please help me, I'm all ears . It is true I have no experience and a vague understanding of the process and I sure do want to avoid unscrupulous assholes.
  11. ''In France, the old-fashioned cabbies rioted against Uber, blocking Uber cars and dropping rocks on them from a bridge. Instead of arresting rioters, the French government threatened to arrest Uber executives for breaking taxi rules. Once again, without even a new law directed specifically at Uber, the enemies of free choice got their way. Paris police have been ordered to forbid use of the Uber app.'' I reckon I never knew the humans on this planet. I don't have a home, I don't have a group almost all the minds and lands are taken by bs ( so much for NAP). I'm sitting here doing stuff, but I know how it could be better, I know this isn't my highest state of being.
  12. I think there are a lot of projects of this kind, they seem to fade and disappear. I don't know how rleiable or meaningfull the $50 billion evaluation claim is. Some might take a while like that one with internet balloons from google. There was one on decentralized Internet providing project (or something of that nature), it got pushed by some ONGs and then disappeared. I tried to contact them with no answer (which means they are not worth a single donation). edit: I thought uber was the same entity.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRrHpf1aikE I really don't know how far this is going to go.
  14. The life expectancy of batteries is a let down on what would otherwise be an awesome longterm investement. what happens every decade or two^ the battery's capacity must be dead by more than half? I hope the costs of production are worth it. I know batteries are toxic and you shouldnt throw them in grabage, so there must be some stinky left-overs. I really like electricity and storage, but this stop me from being electrified in enthousiasm.
  15. PC Windows. I should have realized, PC was just too obvious to me (not rightly so). I want to help Linux out too with compatibility but thats not primary focus. I'm also a optimization enthousiast and I've been wondering if Unity's 3D capacity comprimises how good it is at 2D. I'm sure it couldn't have been worse if it was entirely focused on 2D. That's why I didn't stop with the first option at the door. MonkeyX looked attractive. How about building a game on C++? Yes good point. The problem is if I hire a programmer and than I am locked in with an engine that ends up being mediocre and the next thing I find is a bunch of programmers with a perfect engine. This is why I want to also know the options and not be left at the mercy of work candidates. atleast I would have some orientation for what to look for. If I have multiple candidates I want to know which one is best and not fully depend on what the person I'm about to hire tells me. @For any programming you do you could just psudocode it or hack togeather ideas in easy to read or common languages and allow your programmers to translate it? Yes I could finish it in a matter of time, The final script will not be done until I know its adapted to whoever I am hiring and to whatever code (t)he is(are) using. I have most of it written with visual exemples. Knowing the engines (besides unity and a few that I've checked) would allow me to search better for programmers, like crash into their homes with my deals lol.
  16. I don't know how exactly how you can help me from an outside experience. BUt some might be able to give me valuable feedback on my course choice and maybe some things to avoid doing. I'm still gonna deal with humans, right. http://www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/humanities/course-list/knowledge/ This is what I have picked in about 5 minutes. Neuroscience is my top choice since, I deem it superior to psychology. Because MRI scan = op data. I am more so expecting general tips on not to over-esitmate the maturity of a teacher XD and keep some things ot myself. Neuroscience and the self Knowledge of the human mind Darwin's Tea Party eugenics, misuse included A Brief History of the Universe Legal Knowledge kinds of knowledge excludded from the legal field ..911 why Human-Animal Studies ??? Native Ways of Knowing system of knowledge The enlightenement Interpersonal Knowledge and Communications Evolution
  17. Oh yeah, its Good. I can barely check the source since no one knows XD. I just throw at supposed knowledgeable people ''show me any errors in this''. So far it's all I've been doing on the side. I got some 101 from a brilliant A+++ sudent from HEC when I was younger. I asked, he delivered. Atlough It had nothing to do with the monetary fiat side. Just general economics. Wish It wasn't done by a sales man.
  18. How far can self therapy go, and how efficient is it? I still don't have an ally outside of internauts, an ally for truth and virtue. I think I would seriously benefit from one. I've never engaged in denial nor do I understand (not even in the slightest) how the truth can hurt, its absurd. I was never interested in the alternative, even entertaining it would take so much cognitive effort to fabricate a fantazy that It just outside my interest. Atleast I didn't sense any tampering with my reasoning from emotional reistance, ever. I never doubted evil. The world proved to me by experience that I was superior in reason. I always had grounds in reason that no outside nonesense could challenge. So I reckon I believed in evil without looking for any approval of that. Because it's like asking a cat if your mathematical equations are correct. Their opinions are deemed worthless in regards to wether I am correct or not. But I sure do want an ally, United we could do some much more than if we are seperate. I always pushed my test of reason beyond previous proof. Pervious success has only served for even more experimentation, If reasoning became more reliable, the experimentation became more extreme to achieve the same margin of error, which I found to be my natural comfort and would deem as efficient. So if ever anyone questions my philosophy their gonna have a hard time if they try to tank me. I always think I could do more, but I think supercharging might cancel out with consequences, so I've been more conservative.
  19. edit: The platform is PC and the target OS is windows (64bit windows 7 and up) I'm not sure how big the windows XP marketshare is I might want that too considering it should run on old potato win xp computers easily. *title* The 2D engine will be used for and must have the following (or atleast support them well): -Mulltiplayer support (up to 8-12 player arena minimum) -Top down view of modular spaceships. -Ability to dissassemble and reassemble modular spaceships in real-time. -Pew pew projectiles. -distribution of mass and thrust taken into account for navigation behavior. -Navigation AI support (the way the thrusters are used to achieve user input (and weapons if possible)) Will answer and inform more on request. I dislike learning code language and so plan to hire and act as lead designer.
  20. Purpose Nothing else. It's creative choice. For me, my virtue, was a choice, I was the only party involved. It's a very refined choice too. It steamrolled with care all the nonesense in its way. So when I choose strawberry over vainlla, it's a choice, not a duty, not a responsability.
  21. Tell him to bring you global data that equals the reach of his claims. And if the data does not represent the claims than ask him to explain the discrepancy. And of course he can't explain 5% of it and claim to have explained -60% (does the opposite right?) of it and fool you. But he is going to fool many others hence the futility. I would engage in such futility for my own challenge if I had an ally of reason. Which I've never had yet. Except on non-moral issues (He was great even with his 80% online score of psychopathy). I know people who can't gauge if they understand something. I won't expect them to gauge data when they don't even know what that is about or why it would ever be relevant. I bet you can change the numbers in a journal from Millions to Billions and very few will notice, thats the data fog we live in and that I have been complaining about since ever. I spent 8 years asking for a mathematical explanation of the monetary system (not jargon). Teachers couldn't even explain why currencies have different value. They could barely regurgitate a half-assed answer. like, ''because (insert 10 min silence) the country is more powerfull'' (not bad lol, I guess if the power results in exclusive petrodollar monopoly on much of oil sales).
  22. And this is why I seriously doubt the reliability of academia, this extends to public institutions and also why I don't attribute trust to strangers who are scientists as much as the stereotypical code of reason puts foward. How can you initiate force when you don't even have the data to verify your theory that socialism works? Will enter college in about a month. Hopefully, I will find magicall ponies, tankers and moralists.
  23. I will save you time by telling you the essence: '' ability to sue government for damage to profits due to regulations'' Sounds like ability to sue gov for not terminating competition and not allowing the dumping of radioactive waste in public streets. Because its more expensive otherwise/ TPP
