Resident of Calais speaks. This is the death of civilization.
RCali replied to corpus mentium's topic in Current Events
Thanks for sharing this video. It's moving. It's sad and at the same time invokes anger. It is truly an act of war, and it will have retaliation soon enough. -
Hi, Daniel. I've just read your story, through the link you provide. Truly awful. It has brought me to tears. It's one of the scariest things that can be imagined - or not be imagined. Betrayal. I have no words to follow up on this. No idea of what to ask to help you. Maybe because it did affect me, emotionally. The only thing I can come up with is: where did you lose sight? But that's the same as asking a deaf person what was whispered into his hear. I'm truly sorry about all of it. I cannot help financially, but I'm here to talk any time you need. I also know that your emails for the show have been ignored, but it would most likely be the best choice for you to be heard now. Maybe we can do something about it, collectively. Why are you asking about personality disorder?

Gender Identification; what does this mean?
RCali replied to TBUK's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
I have a penis, I am a man. -
Your body and your life are your own property. You can morally do whatever you please with them.
-
Innaction isn't moral or immoral. Receiving help from others while offering nothing in return isn't moral or immoral, either. You may be kind of a douchebag, for doing that, but that's not encompassed in morality. Over here, at FDR, the general guideline on morality is: if it doesn't break the non agression principle, it's not immoral. So if a person doesn't initiate the use of force against someone else, there's no immorality. But, again, you're speaking in abstracts. Is there a story you'd like to share?
-
Simple. Replace yourself. Oh wait... I guess we're kind of stuck with ourselves... Seems like you're going to have to keep trying. I don't know how to continue anymore on this, with only abstracts being presented. Do you want to speak about something in particular?
-
OK, hold on. I was going to ask about how she was good company to you, even if she has problems with drugs and crime, but then you said she's meaning to go back to California and face her criminal charges, and is willing to maybe be separated from her son? Am I getting that right?

You are as clueless to reality and logic as a nihilist is, and exchanging words with you is as pleasant and rewarding as with one such person.

Step one doesn't invalite step two, and vice versa. For something not to be aggression, there must be consent. And there must be consent from both moral agents, or, the two parties. If you can't understand this, it's your problem, not mine, whoever reads this, or who wrote it. The UPB text being widely rejected, doesn't mean it is invalid. Whoever rejects, or who I have seen reject it, present nothing but fallacy in return, or simply nothing, much like you. I never said Stefan can never be wrong. You are making things up, but to no avail. I will not fall into this trap, and mostly anyone in these forums, since your lies and manipulation are easy to spot. He's proven the objectivity of morality. I think that's a pretty big thing. What about you? You haven't proven anything,

No inconsistency there that I can see. Only in everything you say. For example, insulting you. Never insulted you. If pointing out a flaw in someone is an insult, sure. But as far as I see it, if it's true, it's not an insult. Again. What have you done, that makes your word worth anything? I've seen nothing yet. You're going against, what many consider, a leviathan in philosophy, and you're not even small, in this analogy. You're non existant, since you're providing no arguments.

I've read some of that thread. Not all of it, because it was painful and useless, since it wasn't a conversation. People spoke to you, and you refused everything, and spouted back nothing but deeply flawed logic and falacy, and it's common you appeal to emotions and character. Now... This obscure thinker has millions upon millions of views on his shows, youtube videos, whatever more. He has hundreds of thousands of youtube subscribers. He has a very active board here. He has a team working for him in philosophy and bringing news out to the world and his take on it. He has how many books now? https://freedomainradio.com/free/ He very often interviews great minds who are successful themselves. He has participated in countless lectures. He has studied pretty much everything in philosophy, and has deep knowledge of history, and who knows what more. What about you? From what I know, your most impressive skill is talking to people and not actually have a conversation with them, even though it may seen you're actually considering what they say. Impressive not in a good sense, of course, for it is a waste of time for both parties, since no one gains anything out of it.

You link a 3 page thread and follow by saying people don't defend UPB. Now, what's more likely... UPB actually being wrong, having been written by one of the smartest men on earth, and having been proof read by thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or you being the one wrong? I don't know. How many books have you written on ethics? How many podcasts? What's your take on ethics?

I don't think much wondering is required, on such a topic. And thank you for sharing this information, Matt.

Thank you so much, for sharing this. I'll be using it every day, as well as my girlfriend. -
Surely you'll have a good effect on the child. Just beware of the aggressors influencing your own. You'd be surprised how quickly being around good can influence a person. I've noticed me influencing people in such a manner.
-
That's a good point, too. Do you think it's more or less likely that this is true, in stead of the aggressive parenting, and influencing him to actually desire people to die?
-
Hello, Aj. No, I do not think, at all, you're overanalizing it. Just have a quick thought. How would a person enjoy jokes of everyone around them dying? Well... Certainly someone who doesn't value their life. Someone who deeply values those people's lives, would find it sickening to even have the slightest thought of them disappearing, or anything bad happening to them, for that matter. There must be some reason why that little boy would want everyone to die, and it's most likely caused by their parenting. Are they spankers? Yellers? Naggers? Besides what you already mentioned - emotionally distant. Different people react differently to negative history. Some people, like me, isolate. Others become violent. Others become jokers. Now a different view: maybe he wants to die? Maybe he's much more depressed than you could think, and he could even harm himself. This is more of a long shot, but it's actually the first thing that came to mind. If you don't value other people's lives, and, as we are human, and humans are greatly social creatures, then, I would say, you don't value your life for much, either. I've never met, or heard of a person who lives isolated from all and is happy. Maybe it is because of what I've just said, and they are isolated, so there are no reports of such, because there's no one to report to. But I'd much sooner bet that no one can trully be happy without a single person to share their lives with. Either way, it all comes down to the same. The boy is reacting to something, and you know what this thing is, that he's reacting to. What are you going to do about it? Welcome to the forums

RCali replied to fractional slacker's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
There was always something that bothered me, in such topics, which was referred 100% of the time. Objectivization of women, sexualization, etc. How stupid, and contradicting it is. They don't want to be objectified, but want their self objective body to not be imprisioned through immoral laws of a government. They don't want to be sexualized, but they identify as one of the sexes. They don't want their breasts to be objectified and sexualized, but they are both objects and sexual feature objects. It's basic biology, that you learn early in school. That's what bothers me most. I'm not against their basic idea. I'm for it, really. But, of course, being as conservative sexually as I am, I'd never be interested in women that fight for their rights, in such manner. Being naked in public, and smiling about it. -
Do you think they have the capacity to change? And with capacity I mean both the ability to understand just how terribly they are dealing with the situation (not dealing with it), and the will to do something. Obviously, with all you've say, the answer is no. So why are you still trying? Do you feel you owe them something? Do you feel your wife to keep trying to make it work? Do you think it could be the best for your daughter? Is it worth taking the risk of such terrible behavior being possibly replicated by your daughter in the future, the benefit that could come from it? Not even referring to your sister in law, but the grandparents. Simply watching their own child crash and burn into oblivion... I don't even know what's the worse example. That, or actually being whom caused it in the first place. At least aggression is obvious, and can be avoided. Sorry if I'm being over aggressive on this, but it really pisses me off. I don't know how you could let someone you literally have created go through such pain and constant suffering for decades. It hits me close to home, but for me it wasn't anywhere as bad as that at all. And I know just how much it affected me. I can't imagine how terrible it must be for the sister in law. I'm dealing with this exact thing right now, for myself. And I honestly am very tired and hopeless. It's been like this with my mother since the dawn of me, and even though progress happened, a magnifying glass is required to measure it. Maybe even a microscope. It's pathetic and pisses me off. And reading your story, it triggers me even more, since it's so incredibly worse than my case. Either they are dumb, cowards or don't give a crap. Maybe all three. It doesn't make it any less worse, and I don't think it's forgivable. I think, quite a few times, of the time when I'll have a family of my own. Sons and daughters. I think of just how much good I want to have them feel. Each and every single day. I will have the world for them, and keep all evil from them, for as long as I have arms attached to my body, and able to bear arms to slay any monster that comes by. Bringing one into the world and watching them being bitten by a fiend is just as terrifying and cruel as doing the biting themselves. I can't imagine any time I would have my progeny contact with my ascendants. I'm sure my brother will be fine. I'm sure my close cousin will be fine. None else. I trust none else with such pure creatures that I will bring to light. They have been bad, through idleness. And considering that same idleness, what I do trust they will stay the same, just like that old law of Newton's. Inertia affects these people.
-
That's an awful story. And I'm especially sorry that the sister in law is so disconnected from reality. What must have happened in her life, that she would be reduced to such insanity. I must say, though. After all of this story you tell, and the parents excusing themselves such, how do you still consider ammendment? It's not on that specific case they must ammend. They have a destroyed child. What have they done to try and help? Have they apologized for what they've done to her? It goes over my head, how you would bring your most precious thing in the planet, your daughter, anywhere near these people. If it were me, I'd seek to try and have them fix themselves and their own daughter. Only after this were assured and done, would I consider bringing my own close to them.
