Family Guy Doctrine: Love but not Like
JamesP replied to Existing Alternatives's topic in Self Knowledge
It's propaganda which serves the interests of people who don't want to change themselves. -
Me!

Looks like nobody was really using it anyway, unless they are into listening to dead air! []

If you use the chat room streamer (either via the chat, cast5.serverhostingcenter.com, or SHOUTcast's FDR channel), it will be going down for a day or three. It should be back up before the weekend.

"Slavery was crucial to the development of global capitalism."
JamesP replied to masonman's topic in Current Events
It's a mistake to conclude that because society developed a certain way that this is a prescription for how it should have been. It's not saying something very deep that the way races and classes of people interact today is an effect of injustice in the past... but institutions which initiate violence are a retardant, not a propellant, on social progress. -
I think the Springs and Denver will probably be very similar in terms of climate, with Colorado Springs being a little more into the foothills than Denver is. In terms of jobs and savings, it really depends what you're looking for. You'll probably need reliable transportation in either place, though I think your savings might go a little further in Colorado Springs. I would think that the job market in Denver would be a little larger for a job seeker, but I haven't tried looking in the Springs for work. One thing that would keep me away from that area personally is the presence of the military base just north on I-25 as well as that Focus on the Family (a conservative Christian organization) calls that area home as well. But you get religion and military in Denver as well, depending where you stand. There are also several federal installations in Denver, which I definitely feel ambivalent around.

What'll be bringing you to the Springs? I'll be about 90 minutes north of you in Westminster.

The audio player is back on that page.

I opened up a ticket for this, but if it doesn't show up, you still have other ways you can listen, including by doing a search on ShoutCAST radio.

I applied some updates a few hours ago to the FDR private tracker, which is probably why it went down momentarily.
-
I noticed that today as well. I don't have control over that part of the server, so I'll ask them about it after I get the current song information squared away.

Sorry, I meant that you should edit your bookmarks to change "panel3" to "cast5," and did not intend for you to change the rest of the URL. The new full URL is here: http://cast5.serverhostingcenter.com/start/freedomainradio/ This also applies if you have bookmarked the individual playlists. Just change "panel3" to "cast5" and leave the rest of the URL alone.
-
Ah yes, I think I know why that is. There's some file that they need to have uploaded. Everything else works as expected?
-
If you have any bookmarks to the FDR podcast stream using "panel3.serverhostingcenter.com", you will need to update it to use "cast5.serverhostingcenter.com" before April 1. The chat room has already been updated, but please let me know if it does not work.

Politician wants fines for vulgar Photoshopping [Georgia]
JamesP replied to Alan C.'s topic in Current Events
Oh, so he wants to go after vulgarity? Great! Let's start with the most putrid, awful, vulgar shit out there: Child abuse--sexual, verbal, physical The selling of the unborn The murder of "them" in countless wars The brain-blending public school system The subjugation of poor via inflation Maybe once we deal with these vulgarities, we can address the vulgarity of his wounded pride. -
I haven't yet watched the video but the meta-argument about intelligent design reveals two things to me: 1) people will always find a way to see what's not there; and2) there is still so much we don't actually know about how things work, even considering how much we already know... it really ought to be fascinating and exciting rather than an opportunity for shysters to push their lies.
