  1. I thought it was good movie, and leagues above the competition: Her. Thought Her was awful, but many friends thought it was great. Did you find the protagonist a little over the top or did you find his character suitable?
  2. Ramp signal is on. No one in cue. Why drive up to the light, stop, and wait for a green light? Waste of time. Waste of gas. I see this at least once a week. I attribute this insanity to deontology law worshiping.
  3. Using reason and logic with feminists is like drinking salt water to quench your thirst.
  4. Chomsky is to great intellectuals what Bruce Springsteen is to great performers. It's painful just listening to the guy independent of content. For more insights into the fraudulent anarchist: http://www.paulbogdanor.com/chomskyhoax.html
  5. Apparently the lame stream media still thinks they can sell the public on this useless bag of lies and corruption. Lame stream media is digging its own grave right before our eyes. Get out your popcorn. This is gonna be good.
  6. The left is pushing for Trump. Let's hope the right can get Sanders the nomination. That would make for quite a show.
  7. Do you think the scourge of political correctness plays a significant role in lack of comedy clubs?
  8. My experience has been automobiles, driving, and mass transit are first subject to political agendas and graft long before any free market considerations. While the free market may be allowed some breathing room in some jurisdictions, it is just as likely to be prohibited in others depending on the political climate. Red light cameras are good example. You can find countless places where red light cameras were implemented not as a safety measure but to steal more money. When installed, some places would decrease amount of time for yellow light. That scam lasted over a decade before politicians were forced to back pedal in some areas and remove the parasitical devices.
  9. This mini-fasting strategy is something I have practiced for decades. It's been good to me. I abhor the idea of dietary restrictions and eat lots of "junk food." My weight has remained stable. http://www.healthline.com/health-news/changing-when-you-eat-could-help-you-lose-weight-120214#4
  10. If you have been, how often do you go? Would be nice to see a "Only been one time" option. If you don't go, why not? I put too expensive. Actually I don't mind the paying for food, drinks and entertainment. The only comedy club I know of is downtown and the parking is a nightmare. So it's the parking that is the main issue for me.
  11. I have adopted the following strategy after listening to Adam Carolla who preaches about treating red left turn arrows as yield signs. He just goes when traffic is clear and it's safe, as opposed to waiting for green arrow. He laughs at the people behind him who start honking and throwing up their hands like WTH. He's done this for 15 years, brags about it, and has never received a ticket. Waiting in line on freeway on ramp. One by one each car waits for green light and then proceeds. Meanwhile the right lane on freeway is practically empty and not being used because everyone is stuck on the ramp waiting for the retarded green light to tell them when to go. I only do this when the turnpike is not congested and the stupid meter should not even be on. What I do when I get up to the front line is trail the car next to me when they get a green light. I then allow adequate space so we don't merge together which could potentially cause very minor slow down. Ideally the guy behind me would then take my green light and we have moved 3 cars in the time it normally takes to move 2 cars. But no. The guy behind me is too scared and just sits through a perfectly good green light. What do you guys think. Am I a bad driver?
  12. We don't need better energy storage. It wouldn't hurt, sure. What we need is to undue our politically motivated self-imposed energy production restrictions. We are the Saudi Arabia of coal. Let's use it already.
  13. Now that government has granted a voluntary action/relationship status as "legal," it's tempting to become a statist again.
  14. Let's mix in some contemporary Dylan Roof (DR) for funsies in this Empiricism vs. Rationalism dilemma/conflict. We know DR said he did not like black folks for a number of reasons. He said that right before murdering 9 black folks. The narrative/history is obsessed by his thoughts and words using all manner of derogatory terms to condemn and describe them. But are DR's thoughts relevant? Are DR's thoughts and speech equal to or possibly worse than his actions? Thought experiment. Had DR given the most eloquent and persuasive opposite arguments/opinions before committing murder, would the families and history have a different view on what DR did?
  15. I found an article that cites 15 different studies claiming to show a biological origin of gender dysphoria. How they differentiate cause from effect, and correlation (in regards to gender theory) is the only thing I am interested in, ie the epistemology of gender. Furthermore, not sure how gender can be dysphoric if it doesn't have an objective definition supported by empirical evidence, but that's more the realm of philosophy, I suppose. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brynn-tannehill/how-much-evidence-does-it_b_4616722.html
  16. The View is/was fantastic cinema if viewed through the proper lens. It's basically a giant platform to pander to the voting block of female public school conformists of the non-conservative variety. It has lost a lot of luster from its heyday a decade ago. Watching Barbara Walters feign curiosity of meaningless drivel was worth the price of admission. Now its largely coasting by on momentum and used as a way to employ otherwise lackluster, or unproven talent. While The View is now another vehicle for lefty and feminist propaganda, it does a decent job of being a barometer of what mainstream ideas are being pushed on to the modern 'working moms.'
  17. If you subscribe to transgender theory, are you not obligated to support and endorse transracial theory? My philosophy knowledge is sparse at best, but is this just the latest example of rationalism vs. empiricism, or is it something completely different altogether? The article that sparked my question. http://thefederalist.com/2015/06/12/if-rachel-dolezal-isnt-black-how-is-caitlyn-jenner-a-woman/
  18. Your post SEEMS an odd non-argument. I understand you once forgot to pay taxes on some income. That's not a thought, that's an action. All kidding aside. Where's the comparison. The point is Charles and Ross never initiated force, their only "crime" was having and then sharing thoughts. How is sharing a thought immoral? I like the first question. It's a bit on the abstract side. That's why I used examples. True, one can influence others. But who is ultimately responsible for immoral actions - the influencer or the influencee?
  19. https://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/38301-physical-exercise-and-its-benefits/?hl=exercise Exercise and diet. Yeah, that stuff is hard. The sociology alternative to working out. Study feminism, body positive movement, and ableism, so you can instantly shame anyone who suggests you are not perfect the way you are. Say goodbye to diets, exercise, and society's unrealistic beauty/health expectations. Say hello to you being you, yo!
  20. Take a look down the rabbit hole of LBGTQRSTU&V and its closest ally the gender identity folk, who BTW have a weird habit of telling you about their use of pronouns. SMH It's only 6 minutes long. If in hurry, the good part is between 2:10 and 4:00.
  21. Charles Manson had some, what might be argued as, bad thoughts, for sure. Is that a crime? I don't think so. Is expressing those thoughts verbally a crime? I don't see how. Yet he was sentenced to life in prison for the actions of others. Ross Ulbricht had some, what might be argued as, bad thoughts, as well. Is that a crime? I don't think so. Is expressing those thoughts by setting up and hosting a website a crime? I don't see how. Yet he was sentenced to life in prison for the actions of others. Can you, with any consistency, claim Manson's thoughts as criminal but consider Ross' thoughts as not criminal?
  22. Extremely opinionated opinion warning. This video style of cut and start is impossible to watch. The woman is incredibly obnoxious and comes off as a total douche. I could only take 2 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=125&v=l4lBldKWN6k
  23. I could only take 3 minutes of guy playing with trash in the sand. It appears to me Tupac had more wisdom with messed up upbringing than aging hippie dude.
