  1. I agree for the most part. Milo did mess up, but he acknowledged his mistakes. I hope this will turn into a productive conversation about pedophilia. I also think it opens up a discussion about the gay community as a whole. Is what Milo said actually true and something that happens a lot within gay communities? So far it doesn't seem like the productive conversation is happening anywhere, the whole thing kind of fizzled out and put a dent in Milo's rise.
  2. I don't have high hopes of you finding a match on any site, unless it's a Christian dating site.
  3. This is why we dislike the left so much, they close themselves off from everyone else. I follow all the liberal sites. Huffpo, Buzzfeed, Vox, Everyday Feminist and people like Bernie, Hillary, Maddow etc. Makes your blood boil, but I think it's the better to be informed.
  4. Be nice to them and offer to talk about what happened. If they respond with anger/violence, gloating can commence. We need to eventually get along with each other a bit until the next time something divides us again.
  5. It's usually the low IQ folks (of any movement) that think one person can solve all the problems. Trump is the person we can all get behind as we shoot red pills everywhere in hopes of some landing in the mouths of brainwashed masses. I can also say that Bernie has played a vital role in this election cycle. Even though I don't support him in any way now, he and Trump were the biggest influences for me to get into politics, which meant I needed to understand how our world works, which led me to uncover all the lies that I've been told in life. Even if Trump loses, I say he did an incredible job of bringing people into the limited government side.
  6. I feel the same way. The way I look at it is I'm not necessarily trying to convince others that my position is correct. My main goals are to improve the way I explain myself and to understand the view point of others as best I can. Most of the time, people want to tell you their opinion, not hear yours. So it's useful to keep asking them questions and find faults in their logic.
  7. Instead of asking that, one day you should just show up with a homeless guy to your friend's house and say he's living with him now. I wonder, since I'm an immigrant, do I have more of a say on this subject to liberals?
  8. Going on a vacation alone doesn't necessarily mean he will be cheating on her, but it definitely opens up the possibility, no matter how loyal he is. Both me and my girlfriend are introverts, we both like to socialize a few times a month and need time away from others the rest of the month. However, we don't consider time together as socializing, we think of each other as one person and feel comfortable with each others presence. If the guy is going to have kids with her, he can't take weeks off to be alone. Don't have kids if you're just going to leave them to fend for themselves. The female isn't going to be alright with this agreement in the long run. During the time he's away, she's going to have mental torture about what he's doing and that's eventually going to tear apart their relationship. If I were you, I'd tell the woman not to have kids with him until they experiment with this plan for at least a year. I don't want my future taxes spent on a single mother and her fatherless children.
  9. I would like this also. I'm unsure if he has done live streaming before, but has a week to figure it out I suppose.
  10. There should be a mental obstacle course before any vote is cast. If you fail it, your vote becomes a fraction.
  11. I find the text useful when I need to go back to videos and find stuff I want to look into more. Kind of hard to get the info when you're scrolling through a video of Stefan's face.
  12. I would speak out that the patriarchy has been keeping women down for years, and it's time to shift the balances. All women must go to war while men stay at home.
  13. Perhaps that may be the case, but it's a good test to see if it's possible and Trump is the only candidate to run that has the potential to do it. If he gets elected and everything stays the same, we will know in the future that this path is not going to work.
  14. Wow, that's very interesting. It's like how different species found a safe haven after the Chernobyl incident. Seems like Detroit is becoming a breeding ground for new experiments because everything is so cheap to test out there, but wonder if that would be the downfall of the experiment if the city suddenly starts getting better again? I went to the outskirts of Detroit once with a friend who knew the city well. Even the outskirts were atrocious and scary to travel around. He told me that businesses are starting to thrive in small pockets in different places, which gets cops to protect them, which causes the housing prices to rise and ultimately gets the left to scream out "gentrification!"
  15. My minimal qualifications for president: They do nothing in office. My ideal qualifications for president: They chip away government involvement in everything.
  16. Yeah, I'm confused as to how there is no government. Are people still paying taxes? Why are the politicians gathering in government buildings still if they're not getting paid? If no new laws/regulations are being made, then that's better, but by no means does that equate to no government.
  17. I consolidate my depression because I've found that for me it only draws things out if I try to suppress it. If I feel low, I make myself feel worse, and usually that makes the next day much better and happier. Works for me, but might not for others.
  18. aviet64 - I don't really mind friends not accepting me, my girlfriend is on my side and that's the only person I need to be happy with. Lying for the sake of social wellness is not my thing, and I do agree that it's much more interesting to challenge people's way of thinking. Problem solving is my specialty. About the video - it's cringe-worthy, but I understand that it can be an effective way to convince people (mainly women). It's purely emotional based, and that's one of the reasons why more women tend to be vegan. The problem I have with this approach is it puts all of us into that irrational category, even though a meat free diet can be defended in many ways with reason. AccuTron - thanks!
  19. Boss - Cool, have you put any games out on the market? It can be pretty difficult to generate revenue from them. Eating/using animal products I'm not as against, it's more about where you obtain these products. I'm not one of those leftist vegans that holds extreme positions and wants everyone to be vegan, I think there's a middle ground that would make both sides happy (as well as the animals). Buying cheap factory farmed meat means you are funding an entity that for sure mistreats the animals. It would be nice if more people can spend a few extra dollars to buy meat from local farmers, or even raise your own if you have the time.
  20. I think we will have to wait and see until the election is over and look at the results. There are so many variables in play that are new, actions taken that are great and actions that are terrible. Some say the polls are rigged, and others say the reflect peoples opinions perfectly. Whether Trump loses or wins we will learn something new, either we've found a way to win people over or we figured out that there's not much we can do to affect our politics after putting forth the biggest attention grabber we could find. Saying Trump messed up and will lose is the easy way out (in my opinion). If he wins, you'll be pleasantly surprised, and if he loses, you will say you knew it all along. I'm voting for Trump and remaining agnostic on this matter until we see the results. I don't see the point of becoming pessimistic when we're only a month away from the election.

I'll be in Chicago for another 10 months
  22. Brief History I was born in Russia in 1990, but most of my early memories are from Japan, where me and my family moved to because the fall of communism caused a lot of problems for my family. They are both scientists, so I believe it was difficult to have a career at that point. I moved to the US when I was 8 and lived in the states ever since. Religion Never grew up believing anything, both of my parents are agnostic atheists and I would say I am too. I vaguely remember some Muslim stuff because my grandparents were sort of religious. Most people assume that Russians tend to be orthodox or something, but I’m closer to the Asian parts of Russia, so it’s next to the Muslims. I used to be very atheist and think religions are evil, but have changed my stances. My Profession I’m a graphic artist and game developer. Usually do commission work because it’s easier to survive with a steadier income, but want to step up my game with more projects of my own. If you are interested in checking out my art, you can go to my portfolio - http://izzyaminov.com/ (but it’s a bit out of date). Politics & Philosophy I - Early Stages I was never really involved in politics until very recently, but I could tell now that I’ve always been somewhat conservative when I went to my university. Obviously everyone was liberal and hearing any points of view from the right was outrageous. Although I called myself liberal and believed in many leftist policies, I was different from the other students because I wanted to compete, while everyone else was just patting themselves on the back and saying how great their art is. At a certain point, I knew most of my peers wouldn’t find jobs based on what they like and probably end up as baristas. Politics & Philosophy II - Influences TYT was the first intro to politics I’ve ever had, and I hate myself to this day for listening to them. I can’t understand why I was drawn to them initially, perhaps I never took a firm position on things, so I assumed they were the correct ones. Since my university taught me to never believe conservatives and religious people, I had a bias and never looked into opposing points of view. Nowadays I seek out alternative points of view to keep that bias as limited as possible. Naturally I supported Bernie at this point. The Sam Harris/Bill Maher incident, like for many, sparked a new way of thinking for me. I started looking into the ‘evil youtubers’ like Sargon, Stefan, AiU, Milo, Crowder, Shapiro etc. It was a pretty rough time for me at this stage because all the positions I’ve started clinging to have slowly been taken down, and it wasn’t until a long series of debates with a conservative friend about guns that I could no longer call myself a liberal. FDR without a doubt has been the most influential part of my enlightenment. I hated everything about Stefan when I started watching stuff that didn’t line up with what I believed. Slowly my mind changed, but to others this was a drastic shift, which gets to… Politics & Philosophy III - Relationships The biggest obstacle was with my girlfriend, who saw this sudden change and was worried about me. I had no idea how to confront her about my new stances, but I knew I had to do it and it had to be careful. I started off with feminism, because that was the thing that started the worrying. I think I made a comment, without thinking it through, that would offend your regular feminist. I showed her some videos talking about what’s wrong with feminism to ease her into it, and we discussed them over drinks (alcohol made things much more enjoyable). Then came time for a Stefan intro, and she absolutely hated him. I believe it was because of his direct, to the point, rhetoric that struck her principles and tore them apart, leaving her on the defense and finding reasons why she hates him. Eventually she grew to like him as both of us have gotten to the same wave length. Friends were a different matter. To keep it short, there’s a lot of broken bridges now to varying degrees, and maybe a couple stronger relationships with friends who are conservative. I’m fairly introverted so I don’t care enough to keep the friendships strong by lying to them. I attempted to create some unity by making a facebook group about politics - https://www.facebook.com/groups/unsafespace/ - though it’s not working out the best. I want to talk to people I disagree with and enjoy a civil debate, but my friends (and I probably do this too) escalate the topics to an uncivil place. Other things & Conclusion One of the biggest concerns in my life is animal welfare. I try to be mostly vegan and not buy products that are factory farmed. I deviated from my diet not too long ago when my friend got eggs from his parent’s backyard, which I knew were ethically treated. This issue was something I was interested in discussing in this community, and wondered what Stefan’s position is on it. I get the sense that everyone wants animals to be treated well, but I do see that there are benefits to animal products on occasion. I tend not to suggest vegan diets because it’s very hard to make sure you’re getting all your nutritional needs, but I do think vegetarian diets are much healthier than eating meat. In the future, I hope to build a farm and rescue animals that were mistreated. Being vegan, I’m actually in favor of trophy hunting, but this isn’t something I’m completely set on. The “Adam Ruins Everything” video about this does a nice job of explaining my position. I will basically be a stay at home dad because my girlfriend is the breadwinner, for the most part (I provide some revenue, but only enough for me). I enjoy board games, my favorites are - Catan, Avalon, Dominion, Carcassonne, Splendor and Pandemic. Has been a bit difficult to organize games now that me and my friends are in a political turmoil… Hope that wasn’t too much information. Looking forward to nice conversations with others on here.
