Blackmail in a free society
RichardY replied to Ronin_3000's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Not to associate with them. Build social connections with others. Like in a self defense course, one thing they say is not to be there. I think with hitting them, it's because you've been goaded into it. -

I would say generally yes. For example, calling someone a dirty Jew or Christian as a group. In the particular it's not very nice, but made worse by restriction of freedom of association, by the state. Nicknames depends. I think a lot depends on context. -
Leftists, might be dissolved into collective consciousness. Rightists not necessarily any better, as they end up relying on dogma. I remember Stefan talking about a black politician in the USA saying something along the lines of overwhelming violence by whites against blacks had become reality for him. And that a difference of facts had caused a differnce of reality. Maybe like Jame Joyce Ulysees (haven't read it), although played an add on to Fallout New Vegas (The lonesome road) which I think is based on it. Tend to infer things from multiple sources. Alternatively you may have a balence of left & right, where by you either externalise your consciousness to multiple other people, Frankestein(made of multiple people), or Legion(my name is legion for we are many) style. Or attempt somekind of fusion of personality based on premises, ethics or god maybe.

I don't consider someone being raped to be a joke. A caricature(perhaps the wrong word) with all the substance extracted from the form, maybe, maybe..... An old guy goes to live in an old people's home, one day the female nurse notices he has an erection, "we can't have that". Gives the guy a blow job. The next day the guy is walking around, falls over, the male orderly gives him one from behind. The old guy tells his son about it. "Well you got to take the rough with the smooth dad." Old guy: "yeah but I get an erection once a month, I fall over nearly everyday". Changing the joke around to be a grandmother instead, isn't as funny or even funny at all. I think speech can be a form of aggression especially if it is intended for someone to commit suicide. Various form of sophistry: Taking things out of context, concern trolling, passive aggression, instrumental use of speech. If speech couldn't be aggressive why even have down votes on the forum. People may or may not be conscious of their own sophistry. The key being the, or else,(bribery or social apporval) and the fact society or the authorities may not be there to help. Heard about a car dealer in Peterborough (UK) that would give pikies (Gypo site..) a car so that, the pikey's wouldn't damage the site causing Hundreds of thousands poinds worth of damage. I would say you are. Though I think it depends. If I'm exposing myself and you take a picture, it's different then if some hot young woman has left the curtains open carelessly or perhaps not so carelessly. Sound pretty pervy, I mean if you had a telescopic camera and a good vantage point over a city. With image recognition perhaps it could be set to scan in the evening or something. I mean you don't have to intentionally take pictures for your photo album, look, peek, actively search.. Reminds me of the story on the news a while a go of paparrazi using telescopic cameras to take pictures of Kate Middleton topless sunbathing, could be miles out on their own property. Been a few stories on the news where school pupils have used sexual blackmail and usually a girl has commited suicide. Maybe they don't even have pictures. Even seemingly relatively benign statements, such as "I would do anything to know X"(Inspired by the movie Prometheus) can be forms of aggression. -

@Ronin_3000 Aristotle defines 3 Types of people in his book Nichomacean Ethics. 1) The Hedonists 2) Those that seek Honor. 3)Those who seek truth, the philosophers. Is a "joke" blackmail though? I would say it's not. If so how? Blackmail would be. I'll burn down your store if you don't pay protection money. (Violent) Or I have these picture of you sleeping with a guy, be a shame if they got out to your wife. (Aggressive, though a violation of privacy; unless "they" posted them online, got filmed in the woods or something.) Blackmail is about Honor and Shame. Not saying or rather NOT saying, cough*. "Publish and be Damned". -

I'd say blackmail is Aggressive, to the point where someone might take their own life or be extorted. But is not violent providing it is not accompanied with a threat of violence, though I could be wrong, don't really know a lot about blackmail. -
Asking for summer learning recommendations, specifically for coding
RichardY replied to Nebula's topic in Miscellaneous
@NebulaSome people live to work(High conscientiousness), others work to live(Low conscientiousness). The golden grail being in the middle. If you're the later(low conscientiousness), perhaps consider a commonplace book, to avoid retreading old ground and organise your psyche a bit better, perhaps like a Mages spellbook or a movie director scrapbook. The thing is only you can decide what to do, which is a massive problem if your mind happens to be chaos & you're neurotic . However, what you could try to do is raise awareness, sounds cliche, but I would equivicate it with casting out a net, travel would be one way. Whats that Shakepspeare quote "But above all, To thine ownself be true, Horatio, and neither a debtor nor a lender be." Also take things as a whole, so you understand the wider context. Unless you're high conscientiousness and work through things like a machine. As for learning a language, I remember what a cousin told me once, something I should have heeded. Mentioned when he was learning to code, that he would have small things on his pc that he wanted to code, so he'd just read a bit and do it. Learning by doing, just a natural process to him. Works at a bank designing the software for their servers now. -

RichardY replied to Nebula's topic in Miscellaneous
@Nebula If you enjoy history do history. Trust me, don't do coding to feed your gaming habit, it must be part of a larger purpose. If you're highly conscientious (don't assume) coding could be a very luxrative means to other ends. -
@AscendedMaster "One repays a teacher poorly, if one remains but a pupil." - Nietzsche. Thus Spoke Zarathustra. I think the sentiment is good, but the direction is not. Animal Mother: "You Talk the Talk, but do you walk the walk."

I think a vegan diet can be nutritionally adequate, though unless you have ocd and nothing else to do, not particulary viable. Talking more along the lines of roadkill, than actually caring about the carrion. Why is a raven like a writing desk? Because he doesn't care. In order to kill, you must first kill the idea. (or something like that)

@AscendedMaster Well, pilgrim, only after you eat the peanuts out of my sh*t! A debate with RationalWiki would be worse than useless A) because it is a collective entity B) Because they are "rational". A refutation is not much better, as you are reacting to them, and not them to you.

So if a pedestrian(stupidly or carelessly) steps into the road without looking, I could(no I couldn't, unless in war time, maybe.) keep on going "mowing" them down, as if a fly impacting the windscreen. Needlessly killing them. Though to avoid damage to the car, I'd be better off perhaps with a Volvo(a bit urbane, something that can survive the moose test) or a Cadilac(means from the town interesting). Had a grandfather on my mother's side who was a paratrooper in Greece. Apparently on occasion he killed civilians, drove trucks, narrow roads, possibly on raids. Anyway, games developers don't usually(ever) include civilians on Call of Duty games (PC shooters games). Needfully killing would imply some kind of motive behind the action. Though in actuality there is a false dichtonmy between needless and needful. If you go Vegan I would recommend at least eating fish, some essential components of the diet are difficult to get otherwise. I heard that once from a mountain wildwater rafter mainguide, his wife was vegan had ocd, was fairly insane, though the lack of animal matter can send you crazy even if you micromanage.. Though some are vegan for religious reasons, there is a strength in the idea of God, so I'd be torn from overtly telling them to be vegan if they really need their faith. Personally though I'd prefer something like a cheesesteak... sandwich... In the case of the sub: Gluten, transfats, indigestible milk proteins. I like onions although they don't like me.

Is Forgiveness possible without God? I argue, that it is not. At a metaphysical level, which is ironclad. As how can someone take back, that is to Fore-Give, given we are bound by time presumably, and God or the Gods are not. ....... In this context, forgive; is rather to change or bring to light ones values. ......... Instead of forgive all a person can do is pardon, make restitution(if possible) or correct their mistake(s). I pardon you. (couldn't resist). In short only God can forgive except he's outside of time, not subject to empricism. Therefore the use of forgive is incorrect/non-defined terminology. (though not necessarily, non-actual) "to err is human, to forgive divine." Was inspired by reading a blog posts and watching video by voxday, who said that forgiveness is impossible without God. Thought it was funny he refered to Jordan Peterson as a "Whack Job!" & non-Christian societies "Murderfests". Makes me think of the Fat Tony quote from The Simpsons. "It's funny cause it's true." Personally think it's a fairly important topic given current events and self knowledge, though maybe more interested in the entertainment value. "Are you not entertained???" How do you like your Truth? Raw. (as possible)

The Italian Job (1969) Prof Peach(Benny Hill)ooh I like em big, are those Italian birds big? Would we wear stockings over are head, I'd like that. 7) The Benny Hill Rule "Do unto others, then run" or Absurdism (No wonder it's a French Philosophy).

Is God really a paradox? (Omnipotence and Omniscience)
RichardY replied to Kohlrak's topic in Atheism and Religion
I prefer to be slack in most threads. People don't necessarily know exactly what, they're trying to figure out. Throw out some gambits, see what happpens. I think cough* the burning bush is, and the following is wilder speculation, a conduit for consciousness turning back on itself or becoming more conscious. Fire tending to make a person more conscious and therefore closer to God(or the self). I would say I have a tendency -> towards Nihilism. Maybe that could be halted if I actually believed in something solid. In the meantime, I figure I might as well drain as much knowledge as I can, from people far more intelligent. I don't think politicians(and not just figureheads) convince themselves, I think they genuinely enjoy the infliction of pain, but do not know, or ask why. Ever see the series Stargate SG1? I think they're probably like the replicators (Highly conscientious machines, bent on order Mostly(Control) and often industriousness(plunder)). Although really just throwing around terms, like a jigsaw puzzle be interesting to learn how the pieces fit together, maybe not SAW style though. Yeah like Star Wars(Sith Jedi. Anukin & Padomey ). it's kind of annoying that in nearly 4,000 years they couldn't have come up with something more original. Mesopotamian Gods representing Order Anunnaki. I'd say the Bretons are Celtic French(Name kind of a giveaway). I personally think the Nord are individualists more than conservatives, imperalists (collectivists) .I wouldn't say reframing more like masking. Uhmm May the Sith be with you. Haven't played TES for a while, I've played Oblivion & Skyrim. But not Morrowind. Read a little recently on Norse Mythology, Skyrim (Skrymir) was a mountain king skilled in illusion, his alias Útgarða-Loki(Loki of the Outlands) . So while the Gods carryout various tasks, their actions are actual, though they know not what they do and are flawed. Anyway like a game of rock, paper scissors, curious to see what various personality types maybe capable of. At least on a conceptual level, the mythology adds perhaps some shading so the concepts aren't entirely hollow. Anyway The mountain king (also muscial piece, "In the hall of...) has knowledge of time(neuroticsim) and is able to outwit the Gods. -
I remember once when I was backpacking in Canada seeing a fossilzed skeleton of a horse at the Calgary horse show, apparently they became extinct in North America but were reintroduced.. Went with a fundamentalist christian at the time. Weird how the fossils are outright denied. I mean A) Why would God be testing you in such a way B) How much bleeding time would it take to manufacture a conspiracy like that, not going to happen. or C) The world is more than 6,000 years old. I think if C..... would be like taking a sledgehammer to the skull, total breakdown of their reality.

I don't think food will be a problem. There are cattle that could be slaughtered to provide food in a pinch. Maybe energy & self defense might be an issue depending where you live. Might go the way of S.Africa. Could subsist a long while on beans hobo style. I think an evac plan & physical training are more important. Or probably better than that, proactive community participation. (relationship building) Rambo ideal has more appeal, but is probably less sane to me

Could you recommend any comprehensive works? Kind of interested in messing about with the unconscious, if such a thing is possible. Thought a more associative mythological line of thinking could be one way of going about it. Out of the 3 in your opinion which person is best?

I think it would be funny if Stefan converted to Judaism, instead of Christianity. Probably would have people saying he's a Zionist infiltrator. The term Atheist doesn't wash for me; would be like saying Santa doesn't exist, when it's obvious he works for Coca Cola. Why not say Satanist instead? Moralist, sounds degrogatory. NAP Captain Sweden, UPBer wtf? Classical Liberal or Anarchist is more in acordance with religion being a personal affair. Zechariah 14 12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. Indiana Jones Style.

Wondering if anyone has a particular Transcendental principle? Perhaps One Principle to rule them all? Maybe not a principle but a standard? 1) The Old Testament God of Good & Evil. 2) The New Testament God of Good. 3) Satanism. The Earth is all. Your survival(In a literal, but also egoic sense) and that of your progeny "are" what matters. 4) Silver Rule. "Do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you." 5) Golden Rule. "Do as you would be done by." 6) Act only according to that maxim whereby you can, at the same time, will that it should become a universal law. Perhaps there are other ones people can think of. 4 & 5 relate to 1 & 2 respectively. Where as 6 is a postive affirmation of 4, I think.

Yeah, I've read a lot of things on the Internet mentioning that. The main drawback to Satanism seems to me not having any limits perhaps? Maybe it isn't a disadvantage, I'm not really sure. Can a person have standards without having limits??? Would like to get at the heart of the matter. Getting at either 1st or 2nd hand knowledge, might be interesting, La Veyan Satanism, knowing nothing about it I would assume is 3rd hand..... 1st hand would be studying historical events, mythology, texts, artefacts & maybe even psychedlics. Second hand would be studying someone who has studied the 1st hand. Or alternatively could try to reduce "knowledge" for certainty, perhaps the only certainty is that of Good and Evil? or maybe just the Good? Just Philosophy? Was thinking it might be worth reading the Complete works of C.G Jung as a 2nd hand source all 10,000 pages odd reckon it would take maybe a month for 5 decades worth of "knowledge". Maybe it's mostly cr*p, I don't know. Was initially hesitant to read it(length), kind of bummed the price got jacked up from 25GBP to 800GBP on amazon. Cheaper on a few American retailers might be able to download it somewhere... If overload works with muscle why not the brain? Maybe overwhelmingly based on mating selection, although there is still personality that is malleable. It is often said the unconscious is often much more powerful than the conscious mind. Listened recently to Vox Day and I agree Science was/is dependent on Christianity. What I took from his pov was the moral focus on truth; defined by him by the Aristotlian Correspondence theory of truth. To say that that which is, is not, and that which is not, is, is a falsehood; therefore, to say that which is, is, and that which is not, is not, is true - Aristotle. Although what about things you currently have no conception of, or are in error. At the least Christianity provides a framework if nothing more, which I believe is the case, not necessarily the moral element, although that may help with changing incentive, turning "morality" from the tribe to "God".

Is there a "better" system than democracy?
RichardY replied to J.L.W's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Better for whom? Had I been born into a tribal & conquest orientated "Mohammedaic religion" I'd probably be living it up right now, with multiple wives in the UK. 1) Military Dictatorship - Possibly Centralised under a Monarchy. Would require mass bloody repression. 2) Aristocratic - Decentralised Commonwealth Republic. Back local law enforcement and army to the hilt. As you have no option. Emphasis on Decentralisation. 3) Anarchic - Despite thousands of years of genetic and ideological seperation. Everyone agrees to hold hands and mutually disarm. Not for the forseeable future. 4) Plutocratic Republic - Corporate. But with what? Mostly densely populated country in the World, with ethnic tensions. Why not base in Singapore or Switzerland. 5) Buearucratic - Communism/Socialism, but with massive internal ethnic conflict. Just going to be ignored. 6) Democratic - Though ultimately Plutocratic in nature. Delayed fuse. 7) Theocracy. I think option 2 or 7 are the most viable. -
Internet surveillance getting scary.
