I find it very telling that the link between child abuse, neglect, and addiction is not mentioned once in this video. In In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts, Gabor Mate explains how early childhood traumas shape the neurochemical nature of our brains in permanent ways. Of course, he couldn't resist adding the oft-cited mantra that parents are usually, "doing the best the could with the knowledge they had." See my review of the book in the relevant subsection on the forum.

A BBC study found that sleeping together caused 50% more sleeping disturbances than sleeping separately. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8245578.stm There has been much discussion recently about sleeping in separate rooms, or even keeping separate homes as a couple in order to keep the relationship dynamic energetic and spicing up intimacy and sex life. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/josey-vogels/couples-sleep-separately_b_1212775.html http://www.nerve.com/love-sex/why-married-couples-are-living-separately Please share with me your thoughts on the topic. Yes!--back where I was! (Circular ramble re exercise with swords)
J. D. Stembal replied to AccuTron's topic in Miscellaneous
Congratulations on the fat loss, Accutron. I'm very happy for you! I request video of sword dancing! This morning, I've been jamming out and dancing around the kitchen to Tupac. Non-gym activities? Let me see. Chopping wood, skiing, rock climbing, snowshoeing, hiking, walking, running, carrying sandbags, dancing, sex, breathing, bioenergetics, calisthenics, swimming, air squats... Basically, any movement the human body was designed to do is exercise. Sitting down and messing with electronic devices is not what we were meant to be doing with our bodies, hence why everyone is so traumatized and sick. -
80% of Divorce Initiated by Women
J. D. Stembal replied to goodbytes's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
I'm requesting a thread sticky just for this post. What should we do about it, as men, or as a society? Seeing as most of FDR is male, we can't do anything about it without getting women on board with voluntarism and peaceful parenting. The Gun of the State is a female invention, and we must somehow convince them to stop pointing the muzzle at us. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm certainly not going to fuck a woman who holds a gun to my balls while doing it. What should women do about it? First, they need to realize that men are slowly becoming more consciously aware that women use their sexual currency as long as they can, only relying on aggression when their fertility fades, but men can afford to wait them out by choosing to procreate later in life with a mate half his age. Then, and only then, will women collectively pause and take stock of the situation and change their behavior accordingly. -
I am interested to find a solid explanation as to why mastuerbation is necessary undesirable, as it has many health benefits. In the wild, so to speak, the male human would be having sex around once a day at least. http://www.mensxp.com/health/live-healthy/8858-10-health-benefits-of-masturbation-for-men.html As a personal note, I've tried the 30 day cessation protocol, and it was pretty terrible. Also, why am I getting wedding and bridal popups when I now go to porno websites? Talk about a boner killer! http://www.bridaltune.com/wp-content/themes/morning/topvideos.php?utm_source=dp&utm_medium=click&utm_campaign=top-videos&utm_term=26

It popped up on my YT feed today. In addition to breathing and cold shock therapy, Wim has been practicing intermittent fasting for the past 35 years. I find this very inspiring as I've been doing IR on and off for the past few years, and I credit it for much of my fat loss.

Rational Parents Popping Up?
J. D. Stembal replied to MysterionMuffles's topic in Peaceful Parenting
Recently, I asked, in an intactivist group on Facebook, why most members were campaigning for the bodily and sexual integrity of children, and yet there are many Bernie Sanders supporters among them. Democratic socialism is predicated on theft, and therefore violence, just as circumcision is theft of a child's future sexual enjoyment. I was told to shut up repeatedly and leave the political discussion out of the group, and my posts were subsequently deleted by the admins when the debate caused a stir. Where has this happened before? -
This article in Men's Health also seems relevant to the discourse in this thread. It is a men's health article written by an anonymous woman who does not consume porn (although her father did) yet offers a line of reasoning as to why masteurbation and porn would be detrimental to the health of sexual relationships (her parents divorced). http://www.menshealth.com/sex-women/porn-debate

Three Different Types of Forgiveness
J. D. Stembal replied to MysterionMuffles's topic in Self Knowledge
I am a firm believer that the word, "Sorry," should be expunged from the English language. When has anyone used this word, meant it, and followed up with a commitment to better behavior? It seems as though that, within human interactions, we are constantly asking for and demanding forgiveness from others. It happens to me regularly, and it sneaks up on me, usually by surprise. For example, I irritated one of my fellow cross-fit members by neglecting safety around her, so I blurted out, "Sorry!" and said nothing else in response to her criticism. After thinking about it for a few days, I recognize that which I neglected and why, and I will tell her what I have learned and thank her for pointing it out to me with the verbal commitment that I will be more mindful in the future. -
Sex and Character by Otto Weininger
J. D. Stembal replied to Spaceballs's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
I would also recommend In Defense of Women by Henry Louis Mencken, which was written nearly 100 years ago. Much of our collective wisdom regarding the battle of wits between the sexes has been lost within this span of time. What kinds of cultural Marxist movements occurred between then and now? -
Hello from Summit County in Colorado!
J. D. Stembal replied to J. D. Stembal's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Thank you much, Rosencrantz! I already know that there aren't many students of philosophy out here. This is my not-so-subtle angle in which to lure FDR members out to a remote mountain town so that I can actually meet someone who isn't an outright Marxist, or religious nut. I live in the same county as this man. https://www.youtube.com/user/zionget UPDATE: October 27th, 2015 - It snowed as luck would have it! https://youtu.be/2G_U-R6_J5c -

Universally, the flak gets thicker when you are directly over the target. It sounds as if your aim was true, hence the resulting silence. -
Social experiment - Rape
J. D. Stembal replied to Sabras's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
No, blaming the victim happens after reporting the crime. I'm speaking of prevention. If you don't want your car broken into in a bad neighborhood, don't leave your valuables in plain sight. Common sense, right? The same logic applies to non-consensual sex. Don't put yourself into the position to not be able to say "No, thank you, sir," or be unconscious with your clothes off around people whom you do not trust implicitly. My point was that consenting sex often looks and sounds like a freaky, violent act of depravity. My roommate in college once asked to borrow my duct tape roll one night, and then proceeded to have what sounded like a Medieval torture session in his bedroom with the girl he was dating. Now they are married and have four children. Did he rape his future wife? Of course not! We don't always fall back on the quiet, don't wake the children, missionary style of intercourse as humans. I agree with your analysis on the subtle all men are rapists in disguise message. I will go one step further and say that it's more of a general female projection of a desire to be raped than anything else. Obviously, NAWALT, and all that, but I've never seen a woman get wetter and scream louder than during sex in which she was tied up beforehand, and all of this was at the woman's behest, and thus, consensual. It really is very convenient that feminists so often ignore Briffault's Law.- 19 replies

Why men find thinner women attractive
J. D. Stembal replied to Alan C.'s topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
How would your explanation apply to what males find attractive in females in the United Kingdom in 2015? The bit about food being something being available to the rich is a Marxist discoloration on the lens of backward looking society. Specifically, refined grains and sugars were the luxury only first world nations could afford to import. This is why you see the spread of the obesity epidemic follow refined (processed) foods around the globe. The idea that being fat is a side effect of overeating, gluttony, greed or wealth is completely contradicted by reality. -
Social experiment - Rape
J. D. Stembal replied to Sabras's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
How does one distinguish rape from consensual sex? This is not a trick question. It is actually very important to address. If feminists are to be believed, and over 80% percent of reported rapes are date or acquaintance rape, how would anyone know a rape was occurring? They surmise that it would appear obvious such as a screaming woman who is held down and penetrated by the male, but isn't that was most sex looks like as a matter of course? Most of the sex I've had must look similar to rape. What if the two people in the stall are acting out a fantasy and actually don't want to be disturbed? No, the only reliable means to prevent rape is for the victims to stop hanging out with rapists, and preferably not intoxicated. I'm really sick of this look in the mirror, you could be a rapist bullshit. I'm not a rapist.- 19 replies

Hey guys, thanks for replying! I recently got my Vitamin D test results back, and I got a 47.1 ng/mL, which is excellent for the autumnal equinox at 40N latitude. I take regular D3 supplements and expose my skin to the sun on a regular basis. I do not use sunscreen, but coconut oil. If I get sunburn, which is infrequent, I will use aloe before I peel. My sunscreen is currently being used as a hemorrhoid cream since it has zinc oxide in it. Until there is a Health & Wellness section on FDR, all my health and wellness videos and topics will appear is the Self Knowledge section with the heading [H&W]. I would appreciate it if one of the admins could move this thread over there for me. I linked the Wim Hof interview with Rhonda Patrick over there. https://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/45504-hw-dr-patrick-interviews-the-iceman-wim-hof-immunology/

I don't think this information is in Alisa's Woman Code, but I cannot be sure as I have not seen the book. I have a photocopied reference called "Herbal Support for Adrenal Function" and in it, there is mention of severalTraditional Chinese herbs, Chinese yam, cordyceps, licorice root, and rehmannia. I've used licorice root in my kombucha tea, but not yet tried the others, but the herbal reference indicates that these items are used to address female complaints, such as menopause and menstrual irregularities, especially rehmannia. Do you have an apothecary in town? Perhaps you can try these ingredients and a tea and drink it during the times of the month in which you generally have issues.

Interestingly, a man with a sleep disorder murdered his wife, and in this case, the prosecutors dropped the charges. By this logic, if I am incapacitated in a similar manner, I may rape or attempt to rape a woman (sex without consent) and not be guilty of any crime. This is amazing evidence for natural therapies for disease. We need to get this idea that modern medicine always has the answer off the table. I hosted a man who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 13, and has spent the last ten years on immunosurpressants. His disease is in remission, but he is now making the choice to fix his nutrition by eating more fermented foods and cutting out the processed garbage food, and reducing his dosage against his gastroenterologist's advice. This man is so brave and I am cheering for him. I hope that he will watch this video and consider using heat or cold shock therapy. It has already done wonders for my body and mind!
