Freewill is an Illusion and so is the State. I'd go further and say that they could also be considered forms of religion. Determinism also an illusion. Why are they illusions? They can not be measured. If they can not be measured, do they exist? I reminded of a discussion a while a go about the distinction between things that can be said to be "real" like various shapes, Triangles, Circles, Squares etc vs something that can be said to "exist" such as physical mass. Could Real be substituted in for illusion, in some cases? For something to be "real" would it have to be a shared illusion?

Shoot to kill, how many people can do it.

I'm reminded of a story that was on the news a while a go about a British marine in Afghanistan who shot a wounded Taliban fighter. I think they called him Marine "A" or something there was a clip with someone saying "He's faking he's dead, he's faking he's dead" Bang! "He's dead now". Might be the same story. Personally if I had been in that situation and I don't know if I ever would be. I'd have shot the Taliban guy in the head, no hesitation IMHO. Would have said I thought he was reaching for his Grenade or pistol, even if the guy surrendered I'd still probably shoot him. As I'd probably do the same roles reversed, not going to saw my head off. -

Fairly big jump, would be surprised if they don't get a better website layout, looks rubbish on my laptop browser. I've noticed that a lot of the real news reporters on Youtube have had a massive jump in subscribers too. I wonder how soon till there's hopefully some decent non corporate Internet TV networks. -
Too late. Yeah Peterborough is fairly large, I think the fastest growing city in the UK. Mostly Eastern European in the area where I am in Lincolnshire. I think Cambridge mostly voted to stay in the EU, future brains of Britain. Not really seen much of Cambridgeshire, ancestors use to own wimpole hall there, like a few hundred years a go. Austria has totally gone and fucked themselves over, assuming the election wasn't stolen which who knows maybe it was "again". Looked like a pretty wealthy country when I was there a few years a go, might have some very real problems if they continue with conscription and serving in the armed forces in Austria.

Dam.... I have seen that article before, trawling through the Internet. Never really thought that it could apply to me, but on second reading I think it does, an interesting insight. Just thinking of profile pictures people may use, I guess could show a little narcissism. IMO the classic stories seem to slice through a lot of the bullshit of modern definitions. The only justification I can find to be evil, though not a reason. Yeah you'd think so, people being animals. Seems like a fair definition, an embodiment of freewill perhaps. Maybe, a lot of the other characters in the film were apparently manifestation of other personalities the main character had, not just Tyler, according to a few videos on Youtube.

"Self Improvement is Masturbation". Tyler, Fight Club. A valid statement? I think so. Any thoughts? Performing calculations faster, weight lifting, running, improving dexterity, coding, speaking a language better, refraining from vice as the classic New Years Resolution... for what. To set the Will/Ego? against nature, for others? "Give a man a why and he will bare almost any how." Equivalent? "Self Knowledge" if you were to define it, what would it be? The phrase what you need is self knowledge... is akin to the phrase what you need is Biology, when in fact what you need is a spleen maybe more accurate.

I think emotion gets ploughed into something.... whether its materialism fast cars, some sense of having security, people. Or cigarettes and whiskey and wild wild women they'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane... Personally I think its a very positive thing to be an emotionally-driven beast. Wide swings in emotion get people to do stuff. Thinking of a quote from Nietzsche " I love those who are the great despisers for they are the great reverers" In terms of Jeb!( who felt he needed the exclamation mark) vs say someone like Trump. IMO you've got basically rich country club boy vs Trump who obviously ploughs his emotional energy into producing stuff that people are willing to pay for and women. Hillary damaged goods not bound by seemingly a sense of morality. What I would find interesting would be if there is a relatively easy way to plough emotion into something productive. A movie scene that sticks out in my mind is from Saving Pvt Ryan "don't shoot let'em burn!". Not a particularly productive emotion taking some pleasure from cruelty. Maybe there is a way of doing a kind of reset of mindset, always take notice then when I've travelled somewhere abroad then come back to the UK how green everything seems and usually the moisture of the air. Perhaps some form of long term sensory deprivation(Meditation) then some pre-planned focus after emergence on something productive, sounds cult like or a bit like the film Total Recall.

If it were a choice between the Brexit vote passing or Trump getting elected, Trump is the definite better of the two IMO. Don't think that areas like Sweden and Germany should be written off as doomed to mass societal collapse. Though what a person can do to have a positive influence and restore some balance, who knows. Maybe Trump has a good viable plan with the billions to back it up, perhaps there are other individuals or groups with viable plans. As Stefan said Politics is the Art of the possible. Thinking about Britain, London in someways is a country of its own and effectively controlled in a large part by its first Muslim Mayor, the guy was even filmed saying that at this rate the whole parliament will be Muslim (Shahid Malik Terrorist in a suit). Though even if Britain manages to become some relatively free market like Hong Kong, I still would not really want to live here, too many people, too much satanic mills and lack of green and pleasant land.. 10 years, thinking 5 or less. About 15 years a go was thinking maybe 40-50 years or about 2 generations. The perspective the Internet gives is impressive, but I guess still doesn't beat firsthand informed people.

None of them. D) Trump gets assassinated a year into his term, assassination blamed on Far Right sympathiser by MSM. or E) Trump ignores "protesters". Can't really see Americans fighting one another in any major way too many submarine sandwiches and the country is big enough that ghetto's are easily separated. Usually IMO before there's mass murder, someone "seen" as high-up gets murdered. Arch Duke Ferdinand, The Tsar, some Spanish Politician before the Spanish Civil War, Ernst Rohm, Members of the Japanese Government etc. Instead of starting a war with Russia maybe N Korea might be on the list, if the currency goes down the drain completely and Trump is not in power.

A nearby city where I live (Peterborough), had the first school in the UK to have no children speak English as a native language and this was before the migrant crisis. Visited Austria a while a go, was only around Linz, Salzburg and a small village near the Bavarian border (Polmannsdorf). Intuitively I think everyone with half a brain cell knows this is going to go badly for somebody. People in the USA can afford for the most part to not worry if they so choose by moving to different areas, Europe as we know does not have that luxury when the SHTF. The NAP is fine and all when its 1 vs 1 between rational people, but when its 10 vs 1, those that initiate force and cannibalise the rest, everything being equal will survive moral or not. Survival is always proactive behaviour, never reactive. Balance of Power determines survival. Personally living in the UK(probably screwed), I think I'd like to move to somewhere in Europe not likely to be engulfed in bloodshed and noise. Though I'm kind of decadent (too reactive), so it would have to be somewhere dirt cheap, Serbia perhaps, but I'd consider the frozen wastes of Scandinavia.

From the story Judas pointed out Jesus to the Jewish priesthood by a kiss (could have just said that guy there, probably some symbolic meaning). The priests requested that the roman soldiers bring Jesus to see the governor, to which Jesus agreed willingly to and with foreknowledge of the plot. ( I remember watching Youtube videos on police doing stop and search in the USA where the occupant of the vehicle would ask if they were being charged and the police would just end up waving them on.) Don't think there was any particular agreement Jesus had with his disciples or even if they were referred to as disciples at the time. As for Snowden I guess a lot would depend on what he agreed to when he signed up (and Constitution?, religous beliefs? etc ), whether what he did was treasonous, he obviously betrayed somebody. APB? As another thought experiment, would somebody who is a traitor to the Mafia have more integrity or less integrity, as treason in a large part seems related to integrity. From Google I get the definition: the action of betraying someone or something. For someone, I consider the word betrayal to be appropriate for going against their personal preferences in a way that you said you would not or acted in a way that led a person to believe you had their best interests at heart. Betrayal is something that I would say could be immoral but it also might not be immoral. For something, things seem to get more complicated. Intuitively I feel that treason is always immoral, but it does not and should not have to be related to an Empire, Country, City state, tribe or perhaps family. Going to think on this point a little longer....
-
Is the idea of treason as an immoral action covered by the NAP, perhaps some people don't consider treason immoral? Take for example the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, by pointing Jesus out to people with maybe not the best intentions at heart for Jesus or his teachings, in return for a small amount of money. At what point has Judas initiated force against Jesus?

No where does it say I own a share of someone else's property by voting.

The Principles of Ethics and personal preference of the director then. No general direction of what the show is going in. Would like to know why my reply was the first to not be approved.

Conversely you don't know that by not voting for Trump and by allowing one extra vote (if the election isn't rigged which it probably is) to go to Hillary someone defending child abuse is a step in the right direction either. Votes are just approval whether they are ignored or respected, think what you will. I'm unsure why an Alpha male has to continually state that he is not owned, is there anybody on the forum who actually wants to own Dsayers, why be fearful of collateral damage to yourself when the other candidate is pure Evil or just say you have more important things to do then vote when you have microscopic influence on the process. Too important to others to take 5-10 minutes to vote or talk much longer about voting, I could understand that.
-
If Trump gets elected, even if he does nothing because X politician or Special Interest won't allow him to, he still has a microphone to speak to the World, whether people listen or not is up to them. Having an impact on 242 Million people on the basis of one vote is obviously not going to have much of an impact (though if its a nice day why not vote anyway on the basis that candidate Clinton is pure evil or if you care about politics do a youtube video on not voting instead) especially if Bond Villian Soros pushes a button that deletes votes for Trump. But there is still voting in smaller countries which have a large impact like Iceland, they have a small enough population that could be brainwashed/reasoned with that if enough libertarians focused there or on other small enough states/countries it could have an effect, if Anarcho-cap is reasonable. The Brexit thing like the protests against the Iraq war was/is a complete farce, but if people vote for something outright and its not delivered, then its just further discredited exposed the system/fraud. What the real figures were on Brexit who knows, it was probably rigged, the MSM was certainly biased, but still got an out vote. More importantly, what would be effective instead of voting or not voting?

What Principle/s does Freedomain Radio Stand on?

Sounds like a Job for Bicycle Repairman!!! Jokes aside, voting for Trump is only one small step, though by at least talking about facts and corruption kept from the general public, maybe things will change for the better. "Hopefully" the Nietzschean Superman that is Trump will steer the ship of state away from the course of Venezuela or Nuclear Armageddon and set an example to Europe. I don't think that "just" voting in Europe is going to make any major difference, yes there was Brexit, but the current PM has no balls, regardless what happens though there could be some "psychological benefit", whether it destroys the idea of democracy as a moral system in the UK and Europe in people's minds or decentralises power in principle to the nation and eventually, hopefully to the individual. The more right wing nationalistic parties in Europe are easily infiltrated and bought out, just like the tea party in the USA. Though some individuals have done some positive things exposing political corruption and abuse. Whether Europe gets its Superman is yet to be seen. Nationalism for native Europeans is not going to work IMO, self Interest is too broad and exploitable a term by special Interests. "We will stand on Principle or we will not stand at all." Don't know anything about Democracy in Singapore, maybe their IQ is much higher over there at least compared to the rest of S.E Asia and Malaysia. Know they have strict litter controls, stark contrast to the rest of the region with piracy and shanty towns.

"We are all immigrants"--a simple retort
RichardY replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in General Messages
"We are all immigrants"--a simple retort Oh right, where are you from? Would you like some total strangers to come live in your house? Believe it or not, some people don't actually mind, name and you're good. Though just some random person entering your house Terminator 2 style and asking for your stuff is going to be intimidating and outright theft. Personally though I can see your point, a person could be lying or just plain help themselves to your stuff, could be a psychopath who knows, as with any animal or person. What gives you the right to refuse people entry to your house? Trust and Integrity. -
I know that the video has already been mentioned, but even if you don't intend to vote, sharing the video might be a way of showing just how corrupt democracy is in America and the MSM throughout the world. Heard nothing about the videos in the UK, should be plastered over the front pages and on TV. If you don't know, how can you take action whatever that might be. Loads of comments about Youtube rigging the ratings, what window of opportunity is left before the West goes full N.Korea style or starts a major war to cover-up economic problems.

Clinton Campaign and DNC Incite Violence, Voter Fraud

Holy Shit. Just shows how rigged the whole thing is, heard nothing from the news stream outlets in the UK. When Stefan mentioned it briefly recently I thought it was just some grainy footage. -
The Arrogance of the Anti-Empirical Libertarian
RichardY replied to Three's topic in General Messages
If the grammar is poor, people may draw whatever conclusions they wish. ex "I shot the clerk!!!" or "I shot the clerk?". From the context (of the posts and article), I feel with absolute certainty he is not calling Stefan a fool. Was trying to point out errors that may be corrected to improve the article.- 52 replies

I don't doubt your intention is good, just saying what I see in the Article. Personally I have no idea who tends to read the articles on the site you published on or the reach of the audience. Though I get the point, someone who doesn't follow whats going on may draw different conclusions from words alone.- 52 replies
