“Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.” The Americans have fought too long with Military Dictatorships in the Middle East, the "Special Interests" too entrenched, do you want Hilary Clinton who harvests children's souls or Trump that creates businesses to make people happy and... get richer.

Is human action rational or irrational? Mistake in UPB?
RichardY replied to Mole's topic in Philosophy
and the act of justifying is rational? Where do I say appropriate? -
Done with Humility to a large degree, though still mindful. Not interested in the theoretical for this thread, but the practical.

Was wondering how, through the use of the Internet I could target certain communities and either bring them to Stefan's show, or someone equal to, or perhaps better in some way in heart and Intelligence? I really dislike social networking, though perhaps there's a more systematic approach and I don't mean just spamming comment sections with pro trump comments. For people really concerned about peaceful parenting do you know anyone better with an Internet Show?

I know. Actually apologies didn't pay enough attention to your post. Britain's full to the brim and tiny compared to Canada, they should stay in the Middle East, less cost, similar cultures.

The Arrogance of the Anti-Empirical Libertarian
RichardY replied to Three's topic in General Messages
I don't think labelling Stefan a Fool for choosing to focus on what he wishes to be appropriate. The large font and spacing also makes it a pain to read. Parts of the Article I intuitively agree with. But if you're going to Title the Article "The Arrogance of the Anti-Empirical Libertarian" where is the empiricism, if you intended to include some.- 52 replies

"Abandon Your Posts!!!, FLEE FLEE for (your) LIVES!!!!" 500,000 Refugees... I think there's 2 of the lower Middle provinces in Canada with about 100,000 people already living there (infested with biting insects from what I've heard), some former Ukrainians as well. Maybe they'll all be dumped/placed in Quebec, pretty expensive in Vancouver. The Senate expenses scandal there made the UK MP's look like saints. All things being equal, I'd probably prefer to live in Canada better pay and steak, than the UK.

If he gets in Good with the Military Industrial Complex, as he's trying to do and accepts that he's a dictator, trying to establish perhaps a presidency again, maybe he has a chance and the World won't collapse into more chaos. The expenditure on the Military and all the related Special Interests, Banks and Arms Dealers. Can't see how with such huge payments (Something like 50% of $ spent on the Military Globally) he'd not have to tread carefully around them and have them on board to some degree. I doubt the CEO of Coca Cola or McDonalds would have him assassinated. I'd imagine there are less seemingly suicidal ways of doing so and why would he need to.

A President rules over nobody, he presides. People serve a president and he/she serves them, he does not lead them, if he should "lead them" it is by example and cooperation. He oversees the relaying of information and gives his advice. The "American President" is not a President, he/she is a Dictator. Here's why, as Stefan has explained before and I'm paraphrasing "Almost the moment George Washington became "President" he rode down the Whiskey Rebellion Pennsylvania (making him a Military Dictator). Who is more qualified to be President? A President is Just or he is not a President, ergo he does not serve. Your not voting for a President, your making the case for who is the best "Bomb Disposal Expert". Though personally a small part of me would like to see Clinton get elected so "it" (Brain Fog) Blows up.

Of course. Not sure how things are going to go, obviously there is a wide divide now between the cities and rural areas. Will the situation blow up into a civil war with outright violence like the Spanish? Or be partitioned up, I wonder what the resources and long term currency situation is like? Just a thought, but the flag of ISIS, seems a lot like the White Hand flag from LOTR, with the hill people(Far Left, SJW's ) towards the beginning of the film kind of attacking almost their own tribe the Rohirim (Everyday Joes) before the Elite Uruk-Kai (Hardcore Islamists) go in. "You do not know pain, you do not know fear, you will taste.... Swedish Meatballs!!!!" Mean while the Germans and kind of the Swedes as well...

Timothy 4:1 "For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick(alive) and the dead". Never read the full passage before only the last part, which I was lead to believe meant work till you drop dead, but be quick about it, you can rest in the grave. Interestingly it was mentioned on wikipedia that the phrase was quoted in Hamlet, which I haven't read, but I guess people sometimes pick up parts from certain pop culture. --------- "Ezekiel 25:17, naturally" Funny as heck that part on Pulp Fiction, kind of glossed over the part on equity with vengeance and hot lead.

Was thinking same thing. Hate speech though seems to be whatever the politicians and judges say it is. There's that Dutch MP Geert Wilders on trial for "Hate Speech" at the moment.

Out of curiosity, anyone know any helpful or seemingly rational passages from the Bible? Nothing too long.

Disagree with second point. Thinking of mobile phone development and Apple in particular, I doubt that modern smart phones would have developed at the speed they did without someone like Steve Jobs at the helm, so many complex products were developed with the guy in charge (Toy Story, Ipod ,Iphone, Itunes, Apple Mac etc). My point being that although organisations "may" improve on existing designs if there is going to be an impact some persons vision/innovation is directing somewhere. Not sustainable longer term, though there are some groups(organizations) that no doubt profit individuals and themselves in someway. Banks, Arms Dealers, Military, Political Groups. There is an obvious bias now in the MSM to anyone with a "reasonable" level of intelligence and access to the Internet and importantly to alternative news sites and comment sections. What the "they" though is should not matter in a reasonable society. Though just putting out alternative analysis, I'm not sure is going to be enough. Crucially now I think it has to be better targeted in someway, what should be the highest priority seems highly debatable. Ideally "easily" eliminating the root cause of the current World woes depending on your perspective and crucially feelings. Alternatively attempting to "sanitise" a particular area, through more political action such as backing a political candidate or changing the acknowledgement and obedience of the "state" on a more local level. Option (1) Root cause: First step Try to make non-peaceful parenting, peaceful. Second step( unfortunately... "I see you" LOTR style), undermine the direct force of recognised political positions. Option (2) Sanitise: Interfere more directly with "freewill" target specific areas en masse exploiting networking potential of Internet to bring philosophy, truth and awareness to particular segments of populations. Persuade and win by proxy and example. "Small" countries, in Europe might be good targets for Libertarianism and Ideally no state. The USA is pretty big and I think and feel it would be good/excellent if Trump wins, but... there is still "post Trump" and how much political power may corrupt the guy. But if the SHTF I guess you guys could retreat further into the country "Wolverine Style!". Was surprised to see a video on Youtube of Somali's in Minneapolis protesting for stuff(even the cops looked like Somali's), if I were a Somali refugee I'd probably be down in Florida for the warmth, but I think they don't get on well with Hispanics for some reason. Maybe there are some other strategic options for spreading Libertarianism.

Land Property Rights, I think there are present laws that make land ownership less of an incentive in various places, perhaps because of homesteading not being recognised. A few opinions.... United Kingdom, the general feeling that I get from living there is that it can be a pain to get planning permission from the local council for new builds unless you know people on the council. Housing is expensive for anything "reasonably sized" unless you're in the North where the councils own former run down industrial terraces that were abandoned, lack of well paying work high welfare dependency and associated crime. Living in the East Midlands house prices are probably in the "middle", being within commuting distance of London. Would love to get planning permission for housing on a small parcel of owned land (be like the game monopoly), but not holding my breath on it and not too keen on the UK. Have been stories on the news of one guy hiding his house behind bales of straw to build(trying to avoid objections from council). Another one was gypsies building on land that was later bulldozed (Dale Farm) probably because it would piss off developers and homeowners.(setting a precedent in recent memory) Canada, only seen some of Alberta and BC, but from what I've seen and heard rural property and as such is not expensive, what is expensive is hook up to a state monopolised grid, plus you can't log or diary farm commercially without a quota. As a result a lot of people who live there seem to be religious sects or retirees living in formerly larger villages. Further north though I guess you have coal and minerals exported to China Norway, seems to be a lot of forest that is used for absolutely nothing, not even chopped down for firewood. Lot of land is owned by German tourists that fish in the North in the summer months. So much land that could be grazed by sheep or trees hacked down to give better views the fjords or provide heat. Spain/Portugal, seem to have some of the best land in Europe. Ok so they have to go down thousands of feet in some cases to get water, I'm sure there are methods of piping it in or conserving it. Seems crazy how some of the land is effectively abandoned or not used, I mean they've got a warmer climate to grow seemingly anything, but a lot of the locals would seem to prefer to live in apartments in cities. Especially in eastern Spain.

I wonder if ISIS or Islamists have an objection to voting, cough*(Muslim Brotherhood, Labor Party, Democrats), I doubt they give credibility to the process, but they do it anyway. They're not asserting ownership as they already explicitly state, that God own's everything, they don't believe in democracy either, it's as much of a farce as it is to any Anarchist.
-
No idea. I don't think anyone really has an idea except maybe the Intelligence Agencies. And who knows how many "neutrals" might pull a grenade when a person's back is turned. Even if someone surrenders, from ISIS while fighting against ISIS/Islamists, it might be preferable to shoot them anyway "Let God sort them out". Similar things have happened loads of times, even to former allies. (Sinking part of the French Fleet in 1940.) Don't think people should be too bothered about the Middle East, it's Europe that's going to be a battleground again sooner rather than later. Some demographic overview would be interesting, not just Stefan's presentations or alt-right new broadcasting. An equivalent of "The Big Board" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZV_lIwmz5E Often terrorists and rioters will use social media and smartphone apps to coordinate activities, it might be useful to have a "Big Board" to determine where Libertarianism might be the most effective to spread.

I think you mean Renaissance instead of the Enlightenment which was later. Perhaps Stefan was referring to "The Peasants War 1524-1525" in Germany in which a large majority of People (hundreds of thousands) wanting more freedom and the Abolition of Serfdom were easily slaughtered by an Aristocratic minority with a professional army. Yeah I think there is still quite a Teutonic aspect of Germany that still persists to this day. Kind of makes me think of Indiana Jones in the Last Crusade where there's a scene about how they say goodbye in Germany and Austria. Japan pretty regimented(Hierarchical) as well, though I don't know from direct experience "Nail that sticks out gets hammered down" testing a sword by hacking off a peasants arm in some cases in the past etc.

So neither True nor False? For something to be "True" would it be accurate to say it is a reference by a person to some empirical aspect of reality, mass. When the word "False" is used does that imply non-existence? Does the process of "Truth" contain an aesthetic component, which is derived from Ethics and a Will to Power? Ethics being a development of the Will to Power. Would it be fair to say though that purely focusing on might obliterates any reason. I agree. Maybe there are groups in existence that have a geographical and demographic overview of the situation. I guess how power is perceived is important, a completely unethical person to me is not powerful nor a person, but an animal. Though, where Ethics is impossible to apply, strategy reigns supreme and maybe the only thing to look at are the aesthetic and virtue ethics of a person.
-
Why be interested in the "political process"? Entertainment, pure blood sport, it is blood that be demanded and it is blood that shall be paid. To most Anarchists it is disgusting, something that should not happen. Who's going to or willing to bleed the most or make others bleed? Who knows. Trump by far seems unwilling to be any less of a man than he is, by far the most able to endure, despite a clearly stacked deck and age. So its thumbs up from me. "Hail Emperor those who are about to die Salut you!". Strategically though one person voting, not going to make much difference, though if Clinton wins, Hello "Syrian Refugees", the Internet probably more controlled. Maybe if there was some kind of coordinated effort to persuade people of having less to ideally no imposed force on voluntary adult transactions things might change for the better, plus the peaceful parenting. Though the Nietzschean self improvement thing sounds like it could be equally interesting for a while.

Does "True" exist? Is it just a persons interpretation?

Which is why I said "often to" before patents, which I agree are not Property Rights. Was interested if anyone might say that patents come under property rights. The reference was to "The Merchant of Venice" I was interested in exploring the difference between Property of Body and Property of Possession. Ideal, interested to see if it is equivalent to a preference or something more. "Ethics/morality is predicated on property rights" Which is why I said "same as".

We have the power, but we can't use it.
RichardY replied to barkayb's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Directly derived I would say they could "requisition" items of value not particularly efficient long term on a large scale for enriching members of the government(Special Interests) temporarily or otherwise. Examples can be found from the Late Roman Empire, Ottoman Empire and Babylon. Indirectly however "Special Interests" may take wealth by exploiting the "networking effects" of money or more recently currency. I think, by issuing "currency" through a central bank, the total amount of currency issued is roughly equivalent to "shares" in that country's wealth, what's important is that it is "accepted". Special Interests make sure it is accepted by preventing alternative currencies through taxes on precious metals, requiring payment of fines, licenses, property taxes, minimum wages, health insurance, compliance costs etc. Primarily I think currency is about Networking, but it usually fails as a Store of Value. Some people seem to say Bitcoin is the way to go but as a Store of Value I'm not so sure, and Special Interests can look for ways to screw up the network. Maybe the best way to have a system that works for everybody is to have as voluntary networking as possible but also have a store of value. Not sure how effective a barter system might be given varying levels of ability, but if people could earn currency/money through a game and translate that into the real world maybe that could work. Personally in the long run allowing people to freely transact in whatever they choose on the whole is the best solution.
