  2. I agree with what you said but the last sentence got me confused. Because if you learn to fight its not unarmed, your body is the weapon. I think this is where people are missing the point, you are turning your body into a weapon. By practicing and exercising your body to be really good at hitting people . I personally don't find that appealing as an adult i have been in zero fights or altercations. I wouldn't want to turn my body into a weapon, i rather prevent dangerous situations. I don't think its immoral to learn to fight, its just something i wouldn't do. ----------------------------------------------------------**********update ----------------------------------------------------------He beat up another womanhttp://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Sports/2014/08/16/War-Machine-Apprehended
  3. https://www.udacity.com/nanodegrees What do you guys think of this? Udacity's stuff has been mostly free unless you want some extra help from a coach. They are coming up with this program where they teach you the core skills you need to get a job. They give you a coach to guide you. They also help you build a portfolio. Its probably going to cost ~100 a month. What do you guys think. Im going to sign up for the iOS development one. Im already learning on my own but i have to say that this sounds like the perfect program to learn. Its all I wanted to do in college, have enough skills to build my own stuff or get a job. --------------- Udacity is a for-profit educational organization founded by Sebastian Thrun, David Stavens, and Mike Sokolsky offering massive open online courses(MOOCs).[3] According to Thrun, the origin of the name Udacity comes from the company's desire to be "audacious for you, the student".[4][5] While it originally focused on offering university-style courses, it now focuses more on vocational courses for professionals. Sebastian Thrun (born May 14, 1967) is an educator, programmer, robotics developer and computer scientist from Germany. He is CEO and cofounder of Udacity, an institution he cofounded with David Stavens and Mike Sokolsky. He is a Google VP and Fellow, and a part-time Research Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University.
  4. So if you could go back in time you would do differently ? I know the ideal is to have good parents that and good relationships.
  5. I think its justified that you learned to that fighting style to intimidate the bullies. I also started working out when i was younger to intimidate bullies.
  6. I know i can't prove causation, that is why i use the words "might" and "i think" . Its all based on my belief that violence stems from childhood trauma. If you watched all stefs videos on this subject and still disagree and have not called in. Im not going to pretend to have a conversation with you about this subject. Im done talking to you.
  7. Again people. If i may, I don't think that is anyones stance. Stef made a good point when he said no one has ever emailed or called me and said "Im a fighter and i had a peacefully childhood." That is the main point here, that if you are into fighting you might have some unprocessed childhood trauma. I can't really make generalizations because there are always exceptions but that is what i think the main theory/point stef made. If you disagree, call stef up. You will be put into the front of the line. It would be interesting to hear your points on it, discussions on text can be hard to follow.
  8. Yes but isn't being human more than just moving joints ? An animal can also move joints, it is a very specific theory that is posted in the link.
  9. I don't think most people make that case. I think what stef says is that if you are in a relatively safe environment and you practice fighting its most likely because of some past trauma. I don't think learning to defend yourself is bad if you are in a dangerous environment. Stef has more than 3 videos on this topic some callers made those points and stef responded.
  10. Just finished watching it. It was a really good video the hypothesis is very well argued for. It really sucks that all these genius men are idiots when they choose a wife. To die of overworking to satisfy the money lust of these evil women, thats horrible.
  11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity I personally don't think so. It seems to me that people and most scientist don't understand ethics and how important childhood is to a humans development. If that is true how could they replicate a human brain? I may be incorrect but don't some scientist say that faster computing will eventually lead to a singularity ? How is a faster processor suppose to lead to a computer being self aware? Even if a processor is billions of times faster wouldn't it need some kind of software to actually be self aware?
  12. I had this discussion on the chat and on Skype with some fdr members. I don't like the word because to me it has a relation to a hierarchy in primitive societies. (or animal kingdom) Its usually the dominate male who impregnates all the females and rules by using intimidation or alliances . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_(ethology) But some people on the boards think that in the future the alfa male would be the most virtuous and intelligent male... My response was why use the word ? Why can't we just describe what that person is. Why can't we say that person is our leader or that person is sexually desired by all females. Also in the current definition there has to be force or intimidation; intimidation by forming alliances. Also I think the word Alfa is different than the word Alfa Male because Alfa is also used to describe when something is first or in the top. Since its the first letter in the greek alphabet. I heard stef say that he wants to be the Alfa philosopher and i think that is a good use of the word because he wants to be the best, in my mind he is. You don't hear him saying i want to be an alfa male. Usually people who say that are really primitive and violent. Read about a post that i created, an MMA fighter who almost killed his ex girlfriend (porn star), has a shirt brand that says "I do alfa male shit" .... https://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/41332-porn-star-beaten-by-mma-fighter-ex-boyfriend/
  13. The MMA fighter was actually on the Joe Rogan show. I can't really listen to Joe Rogan anymore.
  14. This might be a little too obvious and predictable for fdr but i thought it was interesting, especially since the MMA fighter is still on the run. I think it would be interesting to research about both of their childhoods. http://www.tmz.com/2014/08/11/christy-mack-war-machine-photos-injuries-broken-bones-porn-star/ ------------------------------------------------------ Personal lifeKoppenhaver was born in Simi Valley, California. His German-American father was an officer for the Los Angeles Police Department and his Mexican mother worked as a nurse, but she later became a stay-at-home mom.[4] Due to his mother's drug addiction, Koppenhaver would often take care of his little brother and sister.[4] When he was thirteen, Koppenhaver unsuccessfully performed CPR on his father, only to witness him die during the process.[5] In August 2000, Koppenhaver attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, for two years before being expelled for "poor behavior".[6] While attending, he majored in biology.[6] In an interview, Koppenhaver claimed that he had been earning high marks at The Citadel.[4] Koppenhaver dated porn star Christy Mack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Machine_(mixed_martial_artist)#Personal_life
  15. You are comparing make up to something unhealthy like fast food. Yes i agree thank you for making that point.
  16. I don't have a set schedule for work but if you guys make a date ahead of time i could ask for the day off.
  17. It makes me feel nervous and scared. Most of the time its things that i have no control over, like pricing or timing of their food.... etc I feel like they take their anger out on me. Also there are times when i mess up or mumble up my speech. But those times i accept that its my fault. They say things like i don't know anything... etc mostly things insulting my working style I'm not doing this to "deal" with anything I just need money to move out.
  18. I'm working hard on my customer servicing skills. As you can expect there is about 20 percent of customers who are rude. The approach that I'm currently taking is to do the best to satisfy them and understand them. And understand that any insults I receive has nothing to do with me. In my personal life I'm taking toxic people out of my life, so i was just wondering what you guys think.
  19. I'm trying to learn more about this subject. Is the reptilian brain the subconscious mind ? I think that stef uses them interchangeably. Also are there more podcast on this subject ? Here are the ones that I have listened to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W82zc65Dw-4 and FDR2750 Lizard brain with... Reptilian complex[edit]The reptilian complex, also known as the R-complex or "reptilian brain" was the name MacLean gave to the basal ganglia, structures derived from the floor of the forebrain during development. The term derives from the fact that comparative neuroanatomists once believed that the forebrains of reptiles and birds were dominated by these structures. MacLean proposed that the reptilian complex was responsible for species-typical instinctual behaviors involved in aggression, dominance, territoriality, and ritual displays. Paleomammalian complex[edit]The paleomammalian brain consists of the septum, amygdalae, hypothalamus, hippocampal complex, and cingulate cortex. MacLean first introduced the term "limbic system" to refer to this set of interconnected brain structures in a paper in 1952. MacLean's recognition of the limbic system as a major functional system in the brain was not widely accepted among neuroscientists, and is generally regarded as his most important contribution to the field. MacLean maintained that the structures of the limbic system arose early in mammalian evolution (hence "paleomammalian") and were responsible for the motivation and emotion involved in feeding, reproductive behavior, and parental behavior. Neomammalian complex[edit]The neomammalian complex consists of the cerebral neocortex, a structure found uniquely in higher mammals, specifically humans. MacLean regarded its addition as the most recent step in the evolution of the mammalian brain, conferring the ability for language, abstraction, planning, and perception.
