  1. Thanks, for you showing in written form what it looks like (an example) to act cowardly. Keep going, it's an advantage to have a demonstration so soon after I had pointed it out. Plus, easier to quote since you laid it out. - - - /21-08-2018/ Hi Shadow voter, Few more cowardly down-votes... exactly what I mean. Your choice, thanks.
  2. Hi thinkers and alike, I think many of you would enjoy this movie. My favourite parts are the cinematography and the authenticity of the acting. Occasionally, a tough movie visually, not family friendly (for the minors). - - - /22-08-2018/ Hi 'doorbell enthusiast' (voter without merit), Don't be afraid to make an argument..(.I generally don't bite :p) . Voting secretly isn't, it's cowardly. (like the other votes in the last month or so...)
  3. It appears, the president of the country where most social network companies are based at is 'cranking up' on pushing back against 'wrongthink'. " Social Media is totally discriminating against Republican/Conservative voices. Speaking loudly and clearly for the Trump Administration, we won’t let that happen. They are closing down the opinions of many people on the RIGHT, while at the same time doing nothing to others……. " — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 18, 2018
  4. Fantastic. You could update/correct/extend your earlier oversimplification then. (if you chose) If your logic is followed, everyone who is a good test taker equals as a good doctor. I know that to be false. (not to mention all the essentials medics learn while practising medicine, molding their skills at work) I can go as far as saying, a good test-taker has a higher chance than the rest in becoming a better professional with continued effort. That can be universalied, the opposite of it is true and also, it can be disproven on the basis of observable reality (ie. - a worse test-taker has a lower chance in becoming a good doctor, especially if lacking perseverance, the continuous effort invested) I strongly think the MCAT score however relevant, insufficient on its own to classify doctors as trustworthy/UN-trustworthy. I mean you can if you want to base your decision on it but I think you are erroneous, and that's a narrow-minded idea. There's field experience, individual circumstances, state of the hospital (when looking at job effectiveness, performance)... etc. If I have a medical issue, I'm more interested in the doctor's tangible experience in dealing with specific illnesses and the state of the hospital (how staffed, equiped, quality they provide). That's why I still think your earlier statement... : "No rational and informed person should ever trust a black doctor (unless you know his MCAT score) . " ... sounds very bad, it can't be universalised.

    - - - 22.09.2018 - - - Howdy 'tickety-doorbell enthusiast' (voter without merit), Yes, people who agree with the op are terrible for that... well, according to your perspective... good thing is, you've got no tickety-clue whatsoever what happened here and I don't think I'm inclined to share with cowards. Tie a knot on that, 'arrow person'

  8. This conclusion sounds very bad. ie. - Presumptuous, and its logic's erroneous. At least from 'no Chinese basketball player...' - perspective, it appears as an oversimplification. Maybe it wasn't/was intended to generalise to all people within a specific group? As in: I think it takes more than just one metric to evaluate a professional's ability.
  9. I think, what you're doing is cowardly but actually it's good, that occasionally, at least you quote me correctly... so thanks for that. Please, when you do, keep quoting me correctly. Otherwise, keep going! - - - /19-08-2018/ Hi 'doorbell enthusiast' (voter), Thanks for emphasising this post, it's what I was hoping to demonstrate. Not making any argument just down-voting from the shadows is cowardly. So yeah, thanks

  13. "The future belongs to those that will it the strongest" (in the present). Will the government put more restrictions on freedoms, increasing the monopoly of Frisco based companies? I think so. But I also think that alternative channels just got a few billions of dollars worth of free advertising... hopefully they have projects to spend it on in the pipeline. Yes, the true colours of the gatekeepers is beginning to show ever more vividly. There will be casualties and in fact as Mike Cernovich has put it, it's also going to be happening on sides not yet affected as much. Logically.
  14. Indeed, it was interesting. Ok, nice one
  15. Hi @ascfgdxz This appears to be a list of requirements for a goal that's clear in your mind. I suppose you also have a strong incentive as to why you think it's something that you want to do. (because you know(?) it will make you happy compared to other things that won't, other things you could be doing but are less preferable ... like a surf instructor...etc. And you also possess the skillets necessary because you have looked into(?) how professionals in that field work, collected information from people with empirical/tangible experience... etc) If you do, I suggest you emulate those that are successful in that field. If that means getting more papers from the government, sinking a large sum of money + opportunity cost (time) into it, well that's the cost of this particular goal and you can be either ready/not to pay the cost of this particular goal. After making that decision, you only need to make it happen, just do what is required of you. Easy to stop thinking and just act knowing why you do things. It's up to you how you go about materialising it. Some people who are more risk averse might prefer to do as the majority, go for what has the highest utility, return on invested resources, safety nets. Others might be more into trying less common routes... you only need to know yourself and your true limitations to assess that. ie. - less conscientious people benefit more from a structured course than those that are independently capable to study more on their own, advance faster on their own. I hope that helps. Barnsley
  16. Hi @J.L.W As you and I had discussed our ideas in pm, I won't repeat them here again. Unless of course if you thought it was necessary, in which case feel free to quote, copy&paste, I trust your decision on that.

Today is an important day, moreover than the usual music thingy... If you haven't, please go to steemit, read what's going on with Stefan Molyneux! - - - I'm sorry, not feeling the music today... that was a nail-biting couple of hours, missed heartbeats, holding my breath, sobering reminder... The full body of text is posted in Current Events / 'Those who rule...' thread with the link to the reference as well. Today's lesson/reinforcement for me is: "... will not self-censor... " (very few people who... the more precious)
  19. /excuse me moderation, this is more important / Posted on St ee mit by Stefan Molyneux a few hours ago... "Within 24 hours, my YouTube channel has received two community guidelines strikes - likely as a result of a mass flagging campaign - and is now on the verge of total deletion. Please respectfully contact Team YouTube and alert them to this injustice. "Almost immediately after returning from a speaking tour of Australia and New Zealand, and after getting my final all-clear cancer checkup, the YouTube strikes against Freedomain Radio - the world's most popular philosophy show - began. Apparently, I had "violated community standards" by publishing a short video last year entitled "The Death of White Males," which discussed the decline in life expectancy for white males, in part due to the opioid crisis. The next day, Wednesday, I awoke to another strike, this time for a discussion I had with UK journalist Katie Hopkins. Now, as I write this, two other Freedomain Radio videos have been set to 'Private' by YouTube and locked. One was called "What Pisses Me Off About the YouTube Child Sex Scandal," and the other was a chat I had with Tom Golden, a psychotherapist and the author of “Helping Mothers be Closer to Their Sons: Understanding the Unique World of Boys” and “The Way Men Heal.” I have poured 12 years of my life into my YouTube channel, with thousands of videos, hundreds of thousands of subscribers, and hundreds of millions of views. In particular, I am proud of promoting Peaceful Parenting, convincing countless parents to stop hitting their children, and start negotiating instead. As it stands, I am unable to publish to YouTube for two weeks. Today my channel hangs by a thread and could be destroyed at any moment. Whether it survives is not up to me, since I have always striven to tell the truth. The future of philosophy is now up to YouTube, and it is up to you. You can help me, Freedomain Radio, philosophy and the world by letting YouTube know what you think. Please do so firmly, politely and respectfully by contacting @TeamYouTube. This is a time for community action. YouTube is making a terrible mistake, but it's not too late to save philosophy. Please act now - tomorrow may be too late."
  20. Hi thinkers and alike, Philosophy and taking principles got a lot more tangible for a few million people in the world I guess, not that (probably) many of you will be surprised but here it is... the ominous 'knock on the door' It's from here (steemit) by none other than Stefan Molyneux and I quote: "Within 24 hours, my YouTube channel has received two community guidelines strikes - likely as a result of a mass flagging campaign - and is now on the verge of total deletion. 23. Hi @Crusader1986 What your parents were saying (if I understood it correctly... familiar ties stronger than civil contracts, ruling elite risking their total ousting... etc)... reminded me a deep and lengthy conversation with a person who's lived smack dab in the middle of oppression coming from the military/government. The anecdote : When I asked how it was possible that fathers, brothers, old neighbours came to take in people from their neighbourhood, in uniforms, armed to the teeth against civilians... The answer was given in a sad and soft tone: "They are brainwashed so much, you can't imagine how little they think about questioning their superiors. But there are people who are nothing like that, doctors that operate on victims of street-clashes inside businesses because if they performed the procedures in the hospital, the police would at least lock them up for supporting the resistance..." Having written this, I'm reminded of a book Jordan B. Peterson has on his recommended list - "Ordinary Men".
  24. Talking about trying to criticise Alex Jones for being a 'conspiracy theorist'... Imagine that you are someone very famous, followers in the multiple millions (5<x<10), about to take 'scrEwYouTube' -s side defending their move in removing him from the platform... ... and then midway into your live-stream when mentioning his name your video goes dark, transmission cut... He-h3-h3-he... nervous laughter, than the realisation (parallel with millions of your followers simultaneously) that your preparation, the talking points about his conspiracy theories, lunacy... Just got a lot harder to criticise with a straight face. Actually, you wonder that he might be right about a whole lot of other things too... Reality kicks ass. ref. h3h3 productions (tweet) : "Wow @TeamYouTube just shut down our @theh3podcast live stream and gave us a strike for talking about Alex Jones??... What. What. " - 11 Aug, 2018 ps. - 'Yourwellian' algorithms do what they're programmed to do, blame the creator not the creation...
  25. From here (Businessinsider) I guess the European Union shouldn't worry about that application paper for a (long) while. How is this going to affect its politics regarding borders and immigration?
