  1. Interesting... ... It is to me, because seemingly (to me) in your example the more gifted gets a 'kick out of doing the menial' but my intention was to depict a rather neutral scenario (an aftermath) where due to innate capabilities the more gifted could perform the task just as easily (normalised for physique and 'whatnot') if wanted. Taking the same scenario but in inverse... fail. As in: can convert a van into a camper, the bicycle as a starting vehicle though isn't sufficient frame-wise to be hacked and soldered into a mobile-home, weekend project... you get me? Also, feelings of superiority for being justly better at something are short-lived for the more gifted... result latter in self-mockery as there's no challenge in running circles around a born-handicapped individual... vanity and malice would be the only reason keeping a more able person choosing to stay in the bounds of 'underachievement'. I'm guessing that is accurate, could be wrong. Average Joe doesn't have doubt, because... when you can't, you should be realistic or waste. Can't imagine a better way how to utilise more, expend less? Stop thinking and appreciate, doesn't worth rolling it further...there's massive wisdom in that, I think. The reason why I think they can loathe and stay cold to the one with higher potential is because they know exactly what it means 'unfair advantage' and 'immovable object'... that's always crystal clear to them. If it wasn't, they'd be much more open-minded, forgiving people... but are they? p. s. (I've also met some truly humble and 'hard as a nail', less sophisticated but very, really, truly nice people throughout my life whom I don't want to ever forget or disrespect even if I'll never hear from them again... crazy, right?!)
  2. Hi @MysterionMuffles Acronyms as such (specific meaning) don't instill a lot of hope when gauging one's empathy levels in broad terms (one's specific circumstances can barely be addressed with general to broad sentiments for starters, lacking visibility or understanding after having acquired corrections/confirmations) ... sort of got reminded of people who are cracking jokes, letting out an insincere laughter in-between points as they wish to explain/bring forth a portion of what's been on their mind. (It could be entirely just my imagination, not trying to claim what I think now is an accurate description of what you'd intended... anyhow, so that you knew.) Dunno what's your style/approach, if I'm seeing something is rather on the 'deep-dive' side of things, I habitually initiate a pm... you didn't, haven't. It's all good, although it indicates your preference is for 'public', not the discreet.... rules out a few options from the start, again all good... but objectively it is, what it is. How do you see my assessment so far? Makes some sense, rings true? Given, I had looked at the whole with a different perspective, I could say (too)... Yeah, dude, no probs. you're cool...Lol (I could have chosen that too, but that's not me) This. This, however made more sense to me, appreciated it more than the rest. It's all good, no hard-feelings or bs., 'each to its own...', thank you (?)

  4. Hi @Bushrat That's a tough situation, I'm very sorry... (words, I know...) Can't be of economic help, though there are many who might and sincerely hope they'll. If it isn't a bothersome question, how does mineral exploration causes (as of an occupational hazard) Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment or is it another type? Barnsley
  5. That's a good question. If you tune into them, listen to the narration, especially when human impact on nature is being described... the narrow mindedness, that means to me kids are at a very high probability associating human activities = bad, nature = inherently pure and nurturing. What do you think about a person actively engaged in population control/management activism, that it won't seep into whatever work he/she does? (have you considered that?)
  6. Hi thinkers and alike, A common 'household' name when documentaries and issues around nature are being discussed on a semi-scientific level... Sir David Attenborough Not many knows, that he: 1. Actively works, promotes population control. 2. Uses his influence to diminish Western culture even further (as in: lobbying for higher 'doll' for people choosing not having children, promoting INsufficient population replacement...) ... I stopped following his work a decade or so ago (one sidedness, in other words... activism), was perplexed for the granting of his title, in recent years I recognised his true character (statist, leftist... dooh!, that's repeating)... etc. I don't support him or his work in any fashion or manner, I'm suggesting that everyone should look into what he's been up to before spending a dime on whatever his source of income may be. Be aware, don't fall for the MSM hype, especially given he's now a leading member of: Population Matters (and link) In my mind, not even his 'nature' documentaries are safe for kids (indoctrination from young age). Any good/better alternatives? (Wish Alex Epstein made documentaries. He's been on the show, read his awesome book regarding fossil fuel, enjoyed his many lectures... etc. ) - - - Update - - - (take you there) 1 -> 2

  8. Please, keep them for those that seek superficiality. With different words but... yeah, I have that written up on my 'parched itinerary', glad we agreed... again
  9. Monotonous, impulse lacking activities are a torture for the more gifted had they been forced (or put by themselves) into, they nevertheless can 'scale down' and do a 'good enough' job if they choose to. A person struggling to read between the lines of a potential customer sharing personal incentives will fail to improvise in a situation (i. e. - flight control, surgeon, entrepreneur, 'good' charity fund manager) where the lain groundworks are insufficient and the solution is outside of prior documented occurrence... or the chances are, he/she will fail. Not unexpected. I'm convinced, the objective probability of a more gifted individual out competing any (normalised for physique) less gifted individual... the only remaining option being choice. That's my argument.
  10. It does. It's been proven. (physics 'n all...) This and what came before are good sentiments or guiding principles, subscribe to them consciously, as in 'me too'. Intellectually I understand the 'makeup' of a 'desert', what's more I wouldn't want to be anywhere else... it's just the motions that I'm engaged in that leaves little place for hope other than the 'candid-breath' of candle-light I'm guarding with unrelenting determination against the sandstorm... (Appologies for the explosion of detail, when too symbolical or vague, I can switch to 'regular-speak'... it's more compact this way) E: (had I checked the weather forecast, I wouldn't have to fight the elements... chosen(?) trials, all-good)
  11. Don't ask, 'I can barely see my horse's leash from the sandstorm raging over my head for the past... (almost said 'God')... Who knows how long (a year or so)...' I'd like to answer but processing is a higher priority (don't want to skew up the thread), maybe I'm not the best to ask those witty queries , maybe when the storm has settled.
  12. to @MysterionMuffles ... Well, in which group do you see more 'blind-faith' coupled with 'against all odds' even when facing 'the immovable object' play out usually with varying degrees of failure... I'd put my bet on the less gifted, but do tell.
  13. What do you think about @MysterionMuffles , for example envy being a much stronger phenomenon amongst the less gifted as they know they'd never had the chance to try for it from the start, as with the more intelligent is rather a matter of choice and level of coercion they had to survive?
  14. I'd down-vote that if I could, (as) it's missing the core elements of this forum: reason & evidence p. s. (Is it just me or there's a pattern emerging: Violet, Elizbaeth + Elizabeth's latest statement = (if I'm correctly assuming they're both women) women in general, prefer less involvement in strictly regulated systems and introduce feelings where should be none?)
  15. Hi @MysterionMuffles I think your recent post is a good one, perhaps we see eye to eye on many points. Did you deliberately leave out 'underdeveloped social skills' or the 'unprocessed resulting in barriers' from the 'equation' you put forward ? I'd assume, for hyper-intellectuals (don't think I'm one one of them) it's much harder to 'connect' or to untie emotional knots given the ease at how they can get excluded in general from social groups due to the general population being more resentful, less forgiving. Am I being lopsided?
  16. Hi @oleom So, I tried connecting some dots, here's what I found... I think Question 3: [1:57:09] from 3932 (mp3-link) is probably going to be a good start expanding on your ask. Is this what you were looking for?
  17. Actually, you're right. My appologies! I just remembered that he did speak about something along the lines of 'being hard to... the other room... smthing, smthing.' I believe it was within the context of speaking about a caller's (who I recall was a woman) brother/sister and how the parents didn't teach him/her independence... I believe. p. s (my bad, I had completely misunderstood your question)
  18. That's ok (not remembering). I've never heard anything like it... (I'm no extraordinary listener, but) from the years and years of listening... nothing I can muster comes remotely close to the suggestion you'd put forward. Are you sure?

  20. But isn't it easier to use dollars for trading as opposed to others for its better integration on the global market? (a layman's query) p. s. ('but' as in 'doesn't it makes sense... ')
  21. Are you implying it's rather inconsequential? (the dollar market)
  22. Hi @oleom Welcome to posting on the board... Interesting question you've got there. From which podcast do you think you've heard it mentioned? Are you a regular listener? How many podcast have you listened to in full approx.? Barnsley E:dit -> -> An interesting looking book about the various approaches to the Ferber Method. -> Question 3: [1:57:09] from 3932 (mp3-link) is probably going to be an interesting discussion to listen to. -> Overview of the various approaches to the Ferber Method
  23. I think you're doing the abstraction 'thing' right now (above, last). Maybe it's nothing but I'm gonna put it out there... You're being chosen on the compatibility of your value-systems by those that you express a desire joining to. You do the same too. Same as when no-one can be within your guarded zone, unless you allow them entry. Thinking that we can decide whose allies are we going to become is impossible, unless they concede but that's not our decision to make, independent from our will. Thinking it isn't, well that's illusory and incorrect. The most efficient way to help others (and ourselves) choosing efficiently & truthfully is to be honest about our intentions and strengths/weaknesses (given they won't immediately use it against us, but I'm assuming that much has been filtered out a priori). Honesty requires 'coming clean' and 'risking' rejection in order for true acceptance being possible. In example: ¿: I'm not a believer, not considering to take up faith but I feel really good amongst you people, is it ok if I stay? ! : We like / don't like / need you to / have to / go away / we'll see when we got to know you... etc.
